Wow, this is super size podcast.

The way Norm described the Shield comic made it sound like that someone at Marvel played Assassin's Creed II and really liked the Templar vs Assassin conspiracy theory.

I disagree with the statement that DC does not has as many known characters. More people who do not read comics know about Flash then Iron Knight for example.

The Killer Croc rumor I am sure is a rumor Croc could be in Nolan's movies though he is not out of the ordinary real life people can have bad skin conditions. He also had a history of being a mob boss so he could be a main villain and not a lackey.

The Green Lantern series I think is coming out after the movie the Green Lantern Emerald Knights film will tie into the live action.

From what has been said Parallax will be an evil force not take over someone.

Damian is suppose to be in Batman, Inc.

I imagine Marvel's Hercules to be Brave and the Bold's Aquaman, in his voice and bombasticness or his cheesiness and everything.

Sounds like Marvel's media stuff is trying to tie everything together.  Because in the movies there is apparently some connections between Cap's movie, the nazis in it, and Asgard, and Marvel's Avengers cartoon just released a micro episode that shows Red Skull trying to tap into Asgard and use stuff from there as weapons.  And now a similar thing in Ultimate Thor.

I think what they should do with the Avengers movie is give a character or three the spotlight, like Captain America/Thor/Iron Man, and have other characters like Ant Man and Wasp and Hawkeye and Black Widow in the background.  They will get s moment to shine in the movie, but aren't the stars.  But in sequels Ant Man and Wasp could have bigger roles, while Captain America and Thor and Iron Man's roles maybe get smaller.  Giving Ant Man and Wasp their moments to shine.  Perhaps while doing the Ultron/Pym Breakdown/Yellow Jacket storyline.  Because Iron Man, Cap, and Thor will also have their own movies going on too.
So have the spotlight move around, and not focused on one character every movie like X-men was with Wolverine.
Then after Avengers 3 maybe bring in different Avengers, Wonder Man, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Falcon, Hercules, Photon, etc.  And have the Avengers movies become a rotating roster that could launch solo films of lesser known characters like Wonder Man or Falcon or Hercules or something.  It could end up being a franchise that continues until Avengers 8 and a completely different cast of characters.

SHIELD would be a great movie, so would Shiar's Imperial Guard (a space drama action movie).

@johnny spam: Iron Knight? Does that character even exist in either DC or Marvel? You mean Iron Man or Black Knight? Marvel does have a greater amount of characters known to the public, most of DC's are the big 3 Supes, Bats, WW and perhaps add Flash to that list. Beyond that they are as obscure to the regular Joe as Iron Fist or Quasar. Hopefully that will change for both companies very soon.

I spelled something and started to delete it to retype then got an email from something else and forgot I only wrote the first half I was going to say Iron Fist.

With Marvel most of the characters are not as known they have Spider-Man The X-Men Hulk and Captain America Iron Man in recent years but there was many known from DC like Superman Batman Flash Green Lantern Wonder Woman Aquaman since they were shown first and had a head start by a few decades.

Good episode. As for the movie line up I think a new Hulk movie would do after the Angers movie but I'm speaking as a fan of that character. lol

Melita has been around for quite a while, she is actually pretty funky, its just that she isn't referenced or acknowledged in any of Wolverines non Weapon X books, which tada, Wolverines current ongoing is an extension of. I know many sites that have Appreciation threads just for her cat lol *grin*

Agree about Thor and him saying 'shut up' should be more like... 'curb your tongue!'

Anyway another mighty fine podcast. Big thanks Comicvine peeps. Appreciate the supersize too to agree with previous posters.

I bought Deadpool MAX to try it because of Lapham and Baker. Was not impressed. This feels like the Deadpool answer to Austen's US War Wachine series where a character believes he's in the Marvel Universe but he is not. Here, instead of a "real world" he's in a twisted version of Marvel. Sweet Tooth continues to be interesting. Although the slow pace can turn off a lot of readers. The best book out this week was The Outfit, even with its $25 price tag and lack of superheroes or any color except for blue.

And the current Wolverine is more a continuation of Weapon X than Origins. Same writer and everything.

I have an issue with Wolverine taking X-Force on his own. A rogue death squad just screams bad news. when they were working for the betterment of the X-Men as a whole. By going after Apocalypse, you are striking at a powerful enemy that doesn't know this X-Force is acting outside of orders. These are all well known X-Men. If Wolverine's force fails. That could mean a retaliation that the main base of the X-Men wouldn't be prepared for.
Scott mostly sent the other X-Force out on missions of groups that were a current threat to mutants. I just don't see the point of this direct conflict with Apocalypse. Is there something they are trying to stop him from doing, or is this a personal vendetta?

About comic prices. When you look at the larger publishers, such as Marvel and DC. Just look at the amount of staff it takes to make one of those comics. Each of them need to get paid. With the independent publisher, you normally have fewer people involved.

The only thing I don't like about the Christopher Nolan's Batman is that the character isn't much of a detective, and the whole print off a shattered bullet was total @#$%. Once a bullet is fire, the heat and expanding gasses destroys the oils that make up a finger print.
I'm pushing for Riddler in the next movie.

I more casually follow comic stories, then by the trade paperback. They fit better in my library anyways.

It's surprising that without Babs. The podcast really stays on comics.

Just wanted to point out that $0.60 in 1984 is the equivalent of $1.22 today, so it's not only a matter of inflation...

Steve seemed to know less about comics than I do, which is saying something seeing as I've only been reading them since July :P

Guys, I really do love the podcast. However; it is made unlistenable because of the super super super poor mixing. Using an iPhone and standard Apple headphones I cant hear ANYONE except Sara talking especially if there is anything that makes any kind of noise, let alone in my office (where i usually listen. I've tried different headphones and all sorts of other things, but really it sounds like everyone but Sara is too far from their mic and is mixed way the hell down, and Sara is right up on her mic and mixed way the hell up.

I dont have this issue with any of the other Whiskey Media podcasts I listen to, and i cant be the only one with this issue. Guys, i love listening to ya! Help me out here!!!!!!

Okay, this drove me crazy in the Unscripted too, so I guess someone has to say it.

Wolverine's new girlfriend isn't out of nowhere. She was introduced in Wolverine: Weapon X, also written by Jason Aaron, who's writing this new one. This is basically a continuation of his previous Wolverine stuff.

Did nobody there read Weapon X? It was way better than all the other Wolverine ongoings.

Hey I hear you, I brought this up already too. At least now I really understand why Marvel decided to relaunch Wolverine at number #1, no one must have been buying the awesomeness that was Weapon X. I still recommend it in TPB's for any that missed out. It introduced lots of cool new quirky characters, had a hell of a Nightcrawler memorial issue, and lots of dark humor.

Why is this Whiskey Media's worst sounding podcast? You guys all use the same equipment, right?
