Funny you talked about the Black Canary punching Green Arrow part in JLA since I just read that. I also had that problem with it since it was like how you mentioned that there would have been an uproar if he was physically abused his wife but not the other way around. To tell you the truth that does sound sorta  right. lol Even when I tracked down the comics showing GA leaving with Hal I didn't think it was as embarrassing as they had her say so I don't think they wrote her reaction right. I haven't read that far back so I don't know the previous runs when Ga and Hal were a team but they do keep referencing it these days and it seems really important to them.
This is the same with that comic that had GA and Hal on a roof and the conversation goes into one about Hal with Huntress and Miss Blackhawk and some booze. The writer just put their own spin on the situation with trying to add some sophomore humor as it were.

I don't know if this is what G-Man was hinting about when he was talking about Daredevil, but Comicvine should do something similar to TANG over at Giantbomb. There are certainly enough comic movies out there.

Keep up the good podcasts too!

" Like the pod cast. My opinion about the convention moving from San Diego, well I don't really care if it moves. The problem I see is there is already far too much focus paid to TV and movies, if the show goes to Southern California then there will be even less attention paid to comics. There will be more video games, TV shows, and movies than ever. I know Glee is a popular show but it does not belong in Comic-Com period. If the show moves then you might as well change the name because it won't be about comics anymore.  Also in your mail bag section, yes Rogue can absorb Spiderman's powers, if you recall for along time she had Ms Marvels powers and she is not a mutant, of course the down side was all the memories she received as a result. "

CBS had a booth at Comic Con, advertising Big Bang Theory, NCIS, and I think 2 and a half men.
A friend compared it to MTV not playing music videos anymore.  If its moving would move it away from Comics more then it shouldn't move.  Or, maybe move it and make it into Pop Culture Con and then start a new Comic Con at the San Diego convention center.

Really wish I could have gone to the Meet and Greet.

Maybe they re-wrote Rogue's ability but she absorbed Thor's powers in Avengers Annual Vol 1 10 (1981) along with several other avengers. Iron Man ends up saving the day because she can't touch him and out smarts the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Love Norm on Podcast...I appreciated how he would explain the names, who they were, or would encourage description. Much appreciated.

Thor? Looks awesome. Captain America? Meh. Green Lantern? Trying to lower my expectations so my disappointment is minimal. That's the problem with being such a big GL fan....I just don't see it living up to what I think it should be.

The best Avengers book? I'm with G-Man, it's Secret easily. Didn't enjoy last issue, but it's best of them all. Rulk coming to Avengers makes me wanna ditch the book though.

San Diego may have a comic con, but I don't know if this big extravaganza will stay. I could see the movie/TV stuff moving to more spacious and industry friendly LA.

Babs needs to check out Hickman's Fantastic Four...not a big FF fan, but Hickman is turning out some good work.

As for Gargan, I'm so glad that it was announced, in the Sunday Spidey panel no less, that he was returning as Scorpion. I like him as Scorpion better.

Good podcast, though it was hard to hear inferiorego...I had to crank the volume up at times.

Nice to have Norm back.
I agree with Norm that the Avengers has been a disappointment so far. I guess I was suspecting it to be a bit more serious but it doesn't look like this is going to be the case with the Red Hulk joining the team. At least with Rulk joining the team I know what kind of comic I'm getting.

As always awesome podcast.
Thanks!

I imagine his voice for Thor's, with his depth to it and reading the old English dialogue.  Maybe because he voiced Thor in the FF cartoon.

But I agree, the fight scene, he sounded good as Thor.  I will miss the old English speak but I'll be fine without it.

Avengers:  Thor is a bully and a jerk, Iron Man is narcissistic, Ant Man has mental problems, Banner becomes the Hulk so he has rage issues, Captain America will probably feel really out of sorts for a while.
Hawkeye, Wasp, they might be the only normal ones.
I wonder how they will all work as a team and interact.

Perhaps his hammer is in Monaco and he travels with Jane Foster to Monaco to find it and thats when he is arrested.

Leave Comic Con in San Diego, New York has a Con, San Fransisco has a Con, LA has a Con, there are Cons in Texas I think.  San Diego needs a Con.  If they move it to LA thats just another Con there.
I just want the Con near me.  It works out for me.  If its moved to LA or Las Vegas, or New York, I might not be able to go, especially New York or some place further like that.  Keep it in California and keep it in San Diego please.
NO LINES for James Robinson or Kurt Busiek!  I was able to just walk right up.  I could have stood and talked to them for a long time.

I love New Avengers too.  Its a fun comic.  You have Luke Cage getting possessed by a demon and turning giant and running around New York.  Its fun comic book stuff.  I also love the time travel stuff in Avengers.  Its just fun to finally get back to all this fun super heroic stuff.
What I want it for Spider-Man to join either the Avengers or New Avengers, same with Wolverine and Hawkeye.  Pick a team and go with that, replace their spots on the team with some other characters like Hercules, or Wonder Man, or Tigra, or something.
But I like the Avengers stuff, its a nice break from the Civil War/Planet Hulk/Secret Invasion/Dark Reign stuff.

My idea for Spider-Sense in the movies:

radiating ripples that blur the area around his head, extending from his head and dissipating as the reach further outward.

Also, I like how you included the mailbag into the podcast.  makes you feel like the fans contribute to the podcasts.  to the conversation.  And thanks for answering my question about Brand New Day.
I read in the back of a Brand New Day trade why they did it and what they wanted to accomplish so I was curious if they succeeded or if they were right about having to do what they did.
I actually sort of liked that they had Mephisto dissolve their marriage.  Because then it wasn't because Peter was unfaithful or MJ was, it wasn't that they stopped loving each other.  They still do, if they just remembered that they did get married.  It kept their characters likable.  But I am still holding out on them getting back together and everytime MJ or Peter are dating or kissing or sleeping with another character it feels like they are cheating on the other.

What I think OMIT #1 was about was showing the reader where the reality started to diverge and change so that it ends with Peter and MJ not married, whatever the cause may be.  The changes to the timeline start here.

I think everyone has the same voice in their head when they read a Green Lantern recite the Oath.

Except maybe Ryan Renolds.

The Thor movie looked like it was grasping for a premise to me. I wonder if those movies will be successful and appeal with non comics reading audiences.

It worries me that Dwayne McDuffie is writing All Star Superman since he sucks with the character he writes a terrible Superman and he didn't write the New Frontier movie it was Stan Berkowitz, people hated his run because the editorial interference.

I've always said 6 episodes is the perfect length for a series of a show, Any longer and the show gets over bloated. Hell in the UK a 6 episode run is a full length series.
