@jonny_anonymous: are you just arguing to argue at this point? It's pretty obvious we're talking about comic book movies.

Why is a review such a difficult concept for some people to understand?

For a great Matches Malone story check out Batman #588-590 by Brian K. Vaughan.

Sheesh, go one week without a podcast, it's like the freezer is out of ice cream. Thanks for bringing home the rocky road ... love it.

You guys mentioned the first Cap movie ... after the Winter Soldier film came out, of course, had to go home and watch the First Avenger, again. Suddenly Bucky's character jumped off the screen, I was like, there he is, the not-yet Winter Soldier. It's a great arc, I think, though nothing will compare to Peggy Carter saying goodbye to Steve in the first movie, man, oh man.

Saying batman eternal is off putting is one of the craziest statements I've heard on the podcast.

I know it's hip to like marvel and bash everything dc does but batman eternal has been crazy good week after week. And futures end has been way better than you give it credit for.

And this was one of the best issues of justice league in years and you guys talk like it's mediocre yet can't rave enough about the hipster favorite Hawkeye.

Might it still be real to you? Damnit?

Thanks for the FF recommendations.

Also, thanks Tony, for making me carry on listening for an extra 15 seconds to see if the podcast was actually finished or not.

Really sucks about what happened at Gamespot.

This was a good'n. I wanted to chime in on the cartoon theme song discussion but then Cory and Mat literally picked all of the stuff I would've said were the best. The only glaring omissions I can think of were the Gummi Bears cartoon (which I know Mat has heard so he probably just forgot), and of course the intro for M.A.S.K. Saying either Justice League or Batman Beyond have the best intros is such a millennial thing to say. I say dig deeper to find the theme songs that are rockingly amazing. Thanks for the podcast. Keep up the great work.

The best opening in all of animation (From the show by the great Steve Gerber!)

Posted by Mezmero

@ptsteelers: Meh. No actual song, just narration over music. Not a lot of unique animation but a lot of clips from the show. I remember liking Thundarr and Jack Kirby rules so 3/5 stars.

Posted by ptsteelers

Yeah, song sucks, No argument there, but I hate that this show "gets no love" so I try to post it whenever animation is brought up. :-)

I mean this show had Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway as contributors and Steve Gerber as the guy in charge (so to speak). It deserves so much more attention than it receives

Bored of Batman Year One? Why are people so entitled with their characters??? :P

Best 80's intro

I don't think it's "hip" at all to like marvel and bash everything DC. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago, but definitely not now. And titles like Batman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Swamp Thing, etcetera, are constantly being praised on this site - and not just by the staff.

I haven't listened to the cast yet - i'm about to - but the off-putting thing about Baternal to me is, well, a couple things. Just the fact that it's a weekly book alone is kind of off-putting from a story overload and monetary commitment point of view. It's almost like you have to struggle to stay ahead of the next issue coming out if you read a decent amount of books. Also, the story seems to be trying too hard to have ties to too many different characters at once. I dropped it around issue 11 or so because of this. It started feeling like the Batman & Robin issues where each issue was basically Batman & Pals w/ a new guest star each week. Having said all that, it was still a pretty good and entertaining series, but there are definitely parts about it that I think could be filed under "off-putting."

Guys, Fraction is confirmed to be off of Hawkeye as of #22. Maybe it's not "cancelled" but it's over as we know it now.

Posted by G-Man

@liveforever: I'll just be over here whistling nonchalantly.

Staff

@g_man: So cryptic!

I hope you know something we don't, but I'm certainly fearing the worst. Fraction appears to be done at Marvel. I was afraid of this after the whole Inhuman situation. I don't think it's on bad terms though, and who can blame him when his creator owned books are on fire? Makes me sad though.

Great episode as always guys! My Mondays are made by listening to y'all.

In response to the Rita Farr/Starr thing: it was clearly an error. Element Woman calls her "Ms. Farr" on an earlier page, and they call her "Starr" later. I even flipped back to ensure I hadn't just misread the first instance. I'm guessing the editor just missed it, and they'll fix it in the trade.

Also: King Arthur and Knights of Justice was my JAM as a young child! Such a great show! I had a lot of the figures. Agreed that it had a great opening!

I'm a crazy Batman fan and even I dropped Batman Eternal. The story bounces around everywhere and I didn't care for any of the artists (some I actively loathed).

It was a good 2 weeks of comics. I was happy with Storm, Hawkeye, and Uncanny X-Men (aka the books that seemed to cause the more ire in folks), and felt everything else was doing "okay". Guardian's wrapped their arc up nice and tidy but still left stuff to be resolved later. Then Uncanny Avengers had the usual Remender flourish of loose ends that will turn into their own stories (something he is great at).

I don't know why these past 2 weeks have been so full of criticism and hate towards books most people have been raving about previously.

Sorry, but no. Lewis went to college and is becoming a programmer, so his schedule got really tight. Jack and I still talk regularly, and we recorded a couple episodes that never hit the site. We kept talking and talking about doing a final episode, but because all three of our lives are so different where they were three years ago, we just don't have time. Sorry. Joe Motisi, who recorded the Vs The Net theme and a guest host when I was away, will be a guest on the new show eventually.
