The Sinister Six are in the news and we have half of them on the podcast. Tony and Corey are joined by Mat as the recent comic news is discussed along with this week's huge stack of comics along with a tangent or two thrown in.
Loved the show guys. Corey and Mat should be on the podcast more often between the three of you , you pretty much covered everything in a stacked week.
20 min and 40 seconds into the podcast was when the guys FINALLY jump into comics. For anyone that really doesn't want to listen to weird sitcom references and laughter and music.
Tony's complaints about Arrow are totally valid. Season two has side stepped all of those issues. Laurel's involvement in the show is minimal, Tommy is dead and Ollie is now using trick arrows instead of killing. The show has vastly improved.

@g_man: A good podcast. Nice that it was joined by Mat it gives room for some more dynamic and more viewpoints without there being to many and making it a blur. You may have look up since or remember it but seemed like there was a little doubt when Nuke first appeared. Nuke was created by Frank Miller and was in the last parts of Born Again. Captain America also appears here so they have the connection from the beginning. Apparently Frank Miller was told that he needed to have some other characters appears in the Daredevil storyline so he chose Captain America. Also Ann Nocenti most famous work on Daredevil is the Typhoid Mary saga.
@longbowhunter, Arrow really did pick things up for the second season. I liked the first season but once the second season started they stopped doing all the small annoying things from the first season. Great show, I can't wait to see the rest of the second season.
@g_man: I enjoyed Season 1. Watched the first few episodes of season 2. So enjoy seeing Shado. Reminded me of Long Bow Hunter. LOVED that comic series. Up to mid season recorded for me so will probably be watching it when my work goes on break for Christmas. Thanks for another wonderful podcast. And 3 peeps is great for doing the 'cast.
I i'm so sick of this change Wonder Woman's costume crap, it's just gotten annoying! If you can't take the character seriously because of the "swimsuit" than read something else!
@nightfang: weird that you bring this up because we weren't talking about the comics. We mentioned he costume in live action. And pretty sure we said her costume was classic and iconic.
@undeadpool I won't scream and cry at you if you don't find Larfleeze funny, BUT! Strongly recommend checking out the latest issue if you think it's a one-note character. YOU SHALL BE SURPRISED, SIR!
Thank you for answering my question about german in comics and nice german pronunciation corey. :-)
That must be frustrating. I ran the Mighty Avengers dialogue through Google Translate and it pretty much made sense, but who knows how Translate translates at your end.
Definitely, the best Moon Knight is the original series by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz, well done for recommending the Essentials, chaps. If the questioner can find single issues at a reasonable price, I recommend them - stories such as 'Stained Glass Scarlet' really benefit from the colour.
Corey, I disagree completely that Wonder Woman's look today is barely changed from her original outfit, especially compared to the changes Superman and Batman have gone through. It's as if you've never looked at the original: the chest symbol, the tiara, the boots, the culottes -not skirt, Tony ... Diana's outfit has changed at least as much as Batman and Superman's. Take another look, young man!
And Wonder Woman's classic look is no dafter than Superman with his strongman look, Batman with his grey body stocking or pretty much any hero you care to name. So Diana flashed her legs - so did Doll Man. And Firebrand had a see-through shirt.
Anyway, as ever, I enjoyed the comics talk, more of that would be excellent.
Have a great week, and special thanks to Tony for making me bust a big grin with, 'Oh a doggy!'
On other languages in comics, I like how Saga has characters talk in Esperanto, which is a language I don't speak, but I can sort of see what they mean because of the art. And then I ran it through google translate and sort of understood what they were saying. So I guess what I'm saying is, yes, Saga is awesome.
More like Unmysteriopool am I right? This is one of the best podcasts you guys have done in a long while. A three man band seems to be the sweet spot when it comes to gabbing about comic books and random tangents. I found myself laughing uncontrollably at numerous points in the episode. You should really start having a record scratch sound prepared to stop the music whenever Mat uses half stars on the show. I couldn't really keep track of everything that I wanted to comment on so I'll just say thanks and keep up the great work.
