Didn't know the new one was up yet. Thought there might not be one this week. Glad its here, but I'll have to listen later I think.

I really enjoyed Spider-Man. Never got any of the tie ins and don't feel like I have missed out. I thought the story was really good and was nice character development and everything.

Favorite new artist? I gotta go with me. I am so very good, and modest.

Monkey Boy on Comic Vine
Art by John Byrne.

I liked John Byrne's run, but I like them being more human and warm and loving and not distant and cold. Not sure if thats what Byrne's was like but I liked his visuals for Krypton and the Kryptonians.

Invincible Spoilers:

I liked this issue, especially the last page. The images in congers up. There are a lot of possabilities it could create, just like with how the Viltrimite War ended. It also is great because it deals with things like redemption for criminals and killers, can they actually be heroes? Can a hero make serious compromises and still be a hero, and also how does the public view Invincible. It was fun.

Macavoy (spelling?) could loose his hair in two ways, perhaps. In the comics Xavier looses his hair when he gets his powers, so I think in the movie he should loose his hair either while using his powers more and more in more stressful situations or all at once while fighting the Shadow King. He fights him and wakes up and his hair is gone or falling out.

I agree with Norm, it seems like comics' main problem lately aren't the rival companies but the lack of readers. Last I heard, maybe last year, the average age of comic readers was 26, and sales are lower now than they were in the 90s. I think one way, besides doing great books, is advertising on TV and the radio. Marvel could do commercials on Disney and Disney XD, and maybe even before Disney movies, and in Disney stores as well as comic stores, and DC comics could do commercials on Cartoon Network and stuff.

The Exclusivity is a good thing, maybe even a great thing, for freelance comic artists because its a steady paycheck and a steady job. I think I read that George Perez loves it because as soon as he is done with one comic job they give him another, so he never has to worry where he will be working next.

For a moment the podcast rewinds and plays previous audio.

Marvel's post Fear Itself promotion sounds so damn ridiculous. So much of it seems dedicated to the short term to only capitalize on the hype before another event.

In Action Comics it actually looks that moments are being recalled by Clark or like quick montage if it were in a tv show.

While it bothers me when tv personalities use their connections to make a comic for only the exposure many other comics journalists and bloggers use their connections to eventually make comic books it is not new.

The Victor Von Doom series was going to be pencilled by Becky Cloonan. It seems really sloppy and bad of Marvel that they just announced this. Feel sorry for Nick Spencer he sounds like he could be great in a superhero universe but his Marvel stuff does not have many people talking.

Phoenix Jones sounds like an ass. Leave the masks and capes to the comics if he was working with at risk kids that is enough why the hell throw it away for something stupid?

Animal Man was in 52 where most of his scenes were written by Morrison it was a more straight forward superhero tale with him in that story Adam Strange lost his eyes.

In X:Men The End it's revealed that Gambit is a clone of Mr Sinister and Cyclops. However, I'm not sure if The End is in continuity.

Hope Sara enjoys her break and has some fun.

Would someone save X-Men and get Namor out of that book. It will be really hard to forgive Fraction that that crap. It's not as bad as OMD, but for me it's kind of up there.

I would never put my credit card information on my Playstation 3. Especially, after this spring. I buy the prepaid cards.

You need to wait a year or six months until we can really say if DC's New 52 really worked. We have to see if their sales are higher than they were. It's too early to say now.

I don't care about the next First Class movie. I wont watch the first, so can't really say much to get me interested in part two.

Slott may have done a good Spider-man comic story, but I still am not going back to Spider-man. It only sucked this time because I really like Ramos' art. They took the series into such a direction that I see no reason to read and care about relationships and events if they can just be wiped away so easily. The cost of the investment isn't worth the payoff. I have been considering buying the trade just to enjoy Ramos' art, but I may not. Stronger narrative stories out there to buy.

If I could make a request for Arkham City. I would want some Cassandra Cain DLC. Even if they were just challenge maps. Showing her old Batgirl costume would be awesome. I was a tad disappointed that she got no love in this. It's also kind of weird that the profiles only showed the back of Barbara's head.

great show, but you guys need to seriously consider changing the opening music to the podcast. Have you heard the bombcast? That's what the opening music to a podcast should sound like.

So I'm going to write this and understand I don't actually read DC. Nothing against DC, I'm just not a normal continuity fan. The only normal continuity I follow is cosmic Marvel. Its a trip listening to you all talk about Grant Morrison because everyone I know absolutely hates the man and all he writes. Its been almost comical (ba da ching!) hearing the exact opposite opinion on him being displayed. Again to spell it out more I have no opinion on the man, just entertained by other people's opinions on him.

If Phoenix Jones wants to get out there and help protect the public, let him apply to the police force - officers have a tough enough job without an attention-seeking amateur getting in the way.

My favourite Krypton is pre-Crisis, the colourful world of thoughts beasts and rainbow falls, I'm chuffed to bits that the latest presentation of Jor-El is a callback to those days ... I don't want no beardy Super-Dad!

JMS' Spider-Man run was interesting, but often for all the wrong reasons. Green Goblin kids? Spider-Totems? Just say no. I rate Dan Slott far more highly for producing fresh stories within the established parameters of the strip rather than changing the fundaments.

PS, I'm with Gordo, the opening music could do with a change ... the current tune is like John Carpenter does Pac-Man* via Migraine. How about some nice Mel Torme?

(My apologies if this is misspelt, I think I may be your only listener who doesn't do videogames!)

It is not. It's an alternate future story, thus making it an alternate timeline (Marvel and their silly timelines). However, it's a great story and I recommend it to anybody who's a fan of alternate/elsewords things, especially when they're based very closely off of main continuity.
