Im not good at reading on moving vehicles either, tend to be okay on trains due to the lack of bumbs and vibrations, the moving print makes me dizzy and eventually nautious.
@G-Man Ah yes, the "compliment sandwich." As a teacher, I was taught to give the student a little bit of something good at the beginning and end of their comment (surrounding the stuff that actually matters) when grading a paper. "Oreo effect" sounds much better though.
Great podcast as always guys. To be honest I was going to post a question but when I heard James would be there I decided not to so you could clear out the questions cache. Well at least now Ive got 2 weeks to come up with something more relevant for the next episode. I really enjoy it when James gives Sara a hard time. Sorry Sara but he's right when says it's more fun to be unfair. That's just how the world works. I especially liked it when Robinson started talking about video games. Makes him seem more like a creator I could identify with. Thanks and keep up the great work. Have a safe trip to New York.
I don't see any problem with Bobby and Kitty having a thing, they're both adults ... who cares about a bit of an age difference if they're happy?
Or even a huge age difference, as you have with Rogue and Magneto - what's weird about that pairing is that Magneto has tried to murder the X-Men so many times - I know I'd not sleep.
Another good Podcast guys and it always nice when James is able to make it. Asside from James presence on the posdact the second biggest event in comic this week ws the end of Avengers vs X-Men and you hardly gave it any time at all.
I'm really bummed that DC takes FOREVER to release trades. I've only recently gotten into comics and want to get into the new Batman and Red Hood series. But only one volume of Batman has been released and the 2nd volume that goes up to the most recent issue isnt out till March 2013!!! And Red Hood is only having a first volume out next month, but it probably isn't going to be up to the current issue. As for Marvel, the new Daredevil series has three volumes with ALL the issues up to number 15 out right now!
The "Put out a *insert your favorite missing DC hero* title -> Low sales -> the character isn't vital and it's a small vocal online community" equation doesn't factor in the quality of the title.
Regardless of who's responsible for Ultimatum, it's still a bad comic and there's plenty more bad comics with Jeph Loeb's name on them (most recent Wolverine series comes to mind) to indicate it isn't just a one off editorial mandate.
What was the selling point on the previous JSA book? Legacy and family. It's the age and the careers of these living legends and their successors that made the book stand out amongst the other team books on the shelf. Earth-2 eliminates all of that and we're left with an elseword tale with bad costumes. I'm sure James was given this mandate but I hope the man who penned The Golden Age at least but up a fight with editorial.
Sara, digital sales of music are ABSOLUTELY accessible.
I kinda got irritated how the guy who talked a lot about Spiderman (which bores me) suddenly talked about negative stuffs about Atom's costume and Green Lanterns' connection with the ring. Blah, blah, blah!
For the record, I only listen to your site's podcast when James is on, to listen about James' book. Kinda disrespectful talking about other comic books when he's there. Or I just hate fast forwarding. lol
I'm going to go out on the limb and assume that James likes talking about comic books he hasn't written too. If he's working in the medium I'd assume that he likes other comic books too. Personally I think it's really cool getting the perspective of a working writer on books that have come out this week. Particularly from someone as blunt as James Robinson.
I started reading when I heard about the new 52, as it seemed a good jumping in point, but have branched out into image and a little marvel, might get more when marvel now starts.
It's always a joy to have James Robinson on the podcast. I didn't realize that James was going to be on the podcast before it was too late and I didn't ask a question for him. I never look forward to giving you "shit", Sara. Though I do enjoy the banter you and James have when he's on the podcast.
Well, in the case of Cassandra Cain. Wasn't her book popular while she was on it? Did it sell well? DC gives so many opportunities to lesser characters. As it's discussed, why isn't she at least appearing? She doesn't need to be a lead, but she should appear in somewhere. You can't say they're rushing into a reintroduction. Casandra has been missing since she left BATGIRL. I looked forward to Cassie's reunion with Bruce since she left the cowl becasue he was dead and she wouldn't follow Dick. He was a father to her, and there was nothing. I don't think DC has even put any thought in what to do with her.
Only part I wasn't especially happy with is the comparison of all anime women looking like 12 year-olds. That's just using examples from Shonen and doesn't take into account Seinen series. It's like comparing ARCHIE to THE WALKING DEAD. That was only a tiny portion. I enjoyed the vast majority of the podcast.
@G-Man
Thanks for using so many of my questions. I didn't know you James was coming in this week. That's why my questions for this week were so general. I also appreciated you saving my question for James that was back from when he was going to be on last time.
I watch a lot of videos on Giant Bomb, becasue I can have them play and just sort of listen as I may be playing a game or working on some art. I enjoy the discussion that happens. For example, as Brad plays DOOM 2 they start talking about the history of the series, they joke about it, and talk about similar issues. That's sort of the same reason why I enjoy when the CV podcast is so long. I don't do that for many Comic Vine videos becasue they are too short for that. However, I never comment or get involved in the discussion on the GB videos, and I always try to comment on CV videos.
@Babs
I didn't see your Brutally Honest videos as that negative. I even went back to watch a few of them this week before I submitted that question. I wanted to refresh my memory. A lot of them were more about you asking people to share their thoughts after you expressed your own. I thought your video about all the ads in comics was something a lot of people feel the same about.
I was just tossing out an idea I thought you could have fun with. The COLBERT REPORT was just a rough example. I more meant a video of the things that bother you as the image appears to your left to illustrate your point. I understand writing satire can be tricky. I was doing that a lot back when I was doing the weekly CODE GEASS 4-komas on devArt.
I don't watch most videos because I can't get them to play here on the site, I have to go to youtube.com to watch them, and sometimes your videos are so long that you cannot load them onto youtube. Is it possible to cut the videos in half or thirds to load them to youtube?
I liked your Brutally Honest videos, they were great. I'd love to see more. Just as long as it was on Comicvine's youtube channel. I also liked the Expert videos, and I miss the comic review videos too where Tony and Sara would discuss what they thought.
Heh, and I'll still be one of the last people to get the technology to expand a person's brain. I still don't have an iPad.
James talking about taking LSD and then saying don't use headphones while walking because its dangerous.
NO!!!! My question didn't get answered again:( Great podcast as usal hopefully next time you can read my boatload of questions regarding James JLA run, Chew, and my rant on missing DC characters.
Love Metal Gear Solid. James Robinson is always a excellent guest although I would like to hear his opinions about the weeks comics more. Past issue of Action was one of the best of the series.
Love when James is on, would also want to hear what he thinks about the comics the weeks he's on.

Your RSS keeps shutting down on me as I listen. Just letting you guys know. I have had to restart the podcast about 5 times now and try and find where I left off.
I went to this comic store that the guy behind the counter would always talk to me about stuff, comics and movies and tv and such, and he would occasionally recommend books or talk about how cool that issue was and it never felt like a sales pitch.
