Ya know it's pretty sad you just dismiss X-Men Legacy, that's the reason books with new characters get cancelled

It's not like it's even a new book. Title changes aside, there's almost 300 issues of that series now over more than 20 years, and 4 years of Grant Morrison's name under "writer." Practically defines "venerable" for the second monthly book in a franchise (second only to Spectacular Spider Man inside Marvel). More issues than X-Factor.

I'm talking about since it relaunched

@jonny_anonymous: I'm sure you must have heard me mention it every single time it comes out. I am buying it. I love the covers. I'm just not crazy about the series. And yes, that's my opinion.

Anyone else notice that Ollie kind of has his Goatee forming in this latest issue of JLA? I was kind of excited when I saw it.

Maybe James Robinson will be back for the podcasts once it is confirmed that he will be writing a new title such as maybe Namor.

Ted Kord was shot in the head by Maxwell Lord.

Overall, a very enjoyable podcast.

Can't say I'm particularly upset by the fate of Catwoman. The whole Nocenti thing pretty much ruined the character. I just wish that idiotic new origin was wiped away and done right. However, the way major publishers treat death like this is one of the reasons I can't take many series seriously. Part of it is the brutality of being shot in the head. There is a level of finality to it. How can I take death seriously, when publishers use it as a sales tactic?

The rating system on comics seems kind of broken. With manga series, they are more often categorized in genre, and genres are more defined by age groups. Shonen (young boys), Shojo (young girls), Sienen (young adult-male), Josie (young adult-female).

f you want to talk about price points. My digital subscription to WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP cost me roughly about $26. That got me a year subscription to this "weekly" series that normally contains 200 or more pages. It updates every Monday.

I was happy when Sara responded to my question about DC comics by selecting CATWOMAN. I completely agree. Specifically with Nocenti. Probably one of the absolute worst of the reboots.

Nocenti can't get anything right in the New 52 it seems, except maybe Katana? I haven't read it yet, but I haven't heard anything terrible from it either. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

Morning Glories is so good~ I def. recomend picking it up. It's like LOST season 1 but in private school. haha

@g_man: You should actually try reading it. I didn't like Legion at first, but ever his "Solo" X-Men Legacy series it been pretty good surprisingly.

@jonny_anonymous I totally feel your pain. :-(

Edited by iceslick

@weddep: Sadly nope not even Katana. It actually quite worst than the others she has written. I honestly think she's the worst comic book writer! Right up there with Rob Liefield!

@g_man Just going to lay some LEGO info on you. :) First up, it's a Danish company, it's been making toys since the 1930'ties, the bricks have been around since the 40'ties. And the name LEGO is a combination of 'Leg Godt' which means 'play good' or 'play well'... and the family that founded the company is still in charge and amongst the wealthiest people here.

i think corey has a point, parents have much ore to do with kids and guns than media, though media definitley plays a part

Edited by G-Man

@batarang614: I obviously have a huge assortment of comics and other media stuff in the house. My daughter knows what she can read and what she shouldn't touch. She's not tempted to see 'bad' things. You have to raise your kids right.

Posted by batarang614

@g_man: i agree, thats why i think its a failure on the parents part more so than the media

Catwoman's fate in JLA #4 has shocked me so far even if I've not read it all the way through. Nevertheless, great podcast!

Posted by knighthood

@babs: No ma'am, you weren't too harsh on Nocenti. Catwoman went from kinda cool with a little too much showing to absolutely horrible. I've been in contact with DC even after Nocenti's first book, but tried to stick around hoping that everything would turn around. I guess I learned my lesson. Don't buy crap not matter how much you love the character involved. That'll only make the publisher think everything is good and possibly give the creator a chance to ruin other characters (like Katana).

Posted by dreamfall31

Thanks for your guys' input on the wrinkled comic pages. It's a shame though since it must be something happening to the issues as they're being shipped as all the others in my store were like that on their release day. I even bought a 2nd Printing of Batman and Robin #18 from Midtown Comics.com and it also had the same wavy damage. Oh well, two months of being in bag and board and they look a little flatter, but it doesn't bother me as much now!

oh, Its terrible

is worst than Catwoman, the first issue was ok, nothing good or bad but after that it just keep on getting worse and worse

IGN gave issue #3 a 2.0, and CBR gave issues 2, 3 and 4, 2.5stars, 2 stars and 1 stars respectfully

Edited by ArtisticNeedham

@babs Not sure if this is why the new Hellfire kids bug Sara, but they bug me because they act like they are so much better than everyone and everything. They are smarter, richer, more powerful, better in every way, and they go after the X-Men for fun and get away with it. You want some sort of blow back or backlash for their actions. The part where a guy says the nuke stuff is a good example. They are so untouchable that Wolverine (a living weapon who cannot be killed by a Nuke) threatens them and they don't get scared at all. You sort of want them to get a little scared like, oh maybe we bit off more than we could chew.

I also agree with what she said about guns in comics, in Justice League of America.

And maybe thats something else, they have no real characters. They haven't given them characterizations yet. Maybe if they had more personality they would be more interesting. That part I am less sure of though. I maybe be ranting about nothing.

@undeadpool @g_man I have an idea for how to get Batman into every comic in DC. Bruce is somehow sent through some prism and is split into 52 Batmans. Some are sent into the past, some into space, some into the future, and most are in the present. They can make it an event. DC's 52 Batmen!

Edited by dangermart

@g_man: You're a better man than me, I managed just one issue of Legacy. Oh dear me, it's just not my kind of thing ... but yes, the covers are tremendous.

And I agree with Sara, the Catwoman climax was too much, but that's a Geoff Johns book for you.

Thank you glad I'm not the only one who thinks this :D

but she is seen in later solicits, and recently seen in that villain thing.HOWEVER,maybe she IS dead and maybe gets resurrected.Maybe she is also undercover for Trevor and is pretending to be a villain,or maybe they forget about her or something akin to that which causes her to become evil.I think it's more the former.Maybe she also has some stupid Cat,9 lives power.

Even though I said this already, you are HYSTERICAL dude!

Also,I find that I agree far more with you and Babs than I do with Tony...

AND you don't get enough credit for your jokes. Most,if not,ALL of them are Hilarious and SOME PEOPLE (COUGH BABS COUGH) don't laugh at them as much as they should.SHAME SARA.....

lol,jk with Sara. But I still think you're funny. You and sara (and Tony as well) make podcasts worth watching. It's just not the same without the Trinity....It's like if Batman and Wonder Woman left DC.

Can someone help me... what the hell happened to the comic sorting option for creators?? I can't find the sort by release date/by appearances anymore. did they remove that?

Possible I admit, but covers are misleading a lot of the time (although apparently not on forever Evil) but on Trinity War she's on both of the connecting covers, but it says Trinity War is sparked by the death of a Justice League member so I think Catwoman is going to be dead until the end of Trinity War. Although it is likely Steve Trevor faked here death.

Tell Corey to read Weaveworld and Imajica then ask him how much like Neil Gaiman Clive Barker actually is. Except... a bit more nhilistic and grotesque.

Thief of Always. Gaiman to the core, none of the awful stuff that's in Barker's other material (it's a YA book).
