@bob808: Hmm, 192 pages. Hard to believe it's been/will have been that many pages. It's great though. I will definitely buy that in HC.

I was thinking about getting that, but it says it only collects up to #17. Will they really release another volume of backup stories, to finish the Shazam story? Or maybe Trinity War will do something about that. Who knows.

Also, to the person who commented on Snyder's work being thematically similar, I completely agree. Both Batman stories featured Batman's belief in being right, but then being proven wrong (He thought the court was a fairytale, he thought that Joker had not infiltrated the cave). Also, the idea of Batman being broken down (in the Court, he's broken down singularly, while in DotF he's broken through his family connections) has been consistent. Just wanted to say that, because everybody on the podcast disagreed.

There's no replacement for Sara, but Matt is always a joy to hear on the podcast. Hope Sara is enjoying her vacation. Aww, no podcast next week? Oh well, I enjoyed this week. I may just listen to this one or last week's twice.

I agree with the consideration about how people say they want innovation, but then complain about things changing. Many of the blogs I write on CV focus on the idea of things that could be changed in comics. Not so much in the story, but in the way they're published and promoted.

I actually seriously considered one of the Whiskey Media internships Ethan announced once, but I live in Kentucky. I just didn't know anyone out that way.

On my devArt page, I draw both sexy looking women and men, and I find my female audience is highly appreciative of the sexy guy drawings. I also get a laugh at just how uncomfortable those pictures make my male audience.

Rather than having a costume switch. I'd like to see the major publishers cross over the ONE PIECE character Emporio Ivankov. He's a character that looks like Tim Curry's Dr. Frank N. Furter from ROCK HORROR. and he has the ability to switch the gender of humans and himself. Have him use his powers to switch the genders of everyone.

In fact, seeing how his page is empty on Comic Vine. I need to go edit that this weekend.

@g_man: Tony we get it but we just think it's stupid. Your a Batman fan so your ok with Batman being in the right and you don't mind that Superman is being used as a dumb brute who get's manuplated by Wonder Woman (which is not who Wonder Woman is) into betraying his moral compass, that Is NOT Superman his the ultimate good guy. Am sure if a writer wrote Batman like a dumb brute who is manuplated by Talia to change the world Ra's Al Gual style, would you enjoy Justice League as much ? I have supported the New 52 long enough and am tired of this crap, Superman is the Hero he knows the difference from right and wrong he should be the leader of the Justice league and he deserves better then the edgy, impulsive, idiotic take that Geoff John's is doing.

@g_man: Yes, Tony I know but am referring to the bigger picture. One moment does not make the last 18 issues especially 2 and 3 some how disappear , where Superman acted like an idiot attacking Green Lantern and Batman (Superman should never attack other beings especially if his not sure if they have powers or not). Superman to me is not an agressive nor brash hero we can leave that to heroes like GL or even the Flash. The bigger picutre from what I can tell is using the Wonder Woman and Superman relationship as a pawn that will lead to an out of control Superman who is being influenced by Wonder Woman. Now to another point, I understand Batman's postion am not debating that as a leader Batman needs to make sure they know that their relatioship is scaring some people such as Amanda Waller am fine with that and Batman keeping and eye of Superman and Wonder Woman makes sense given Batman's personality and his postion as leader, so I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is John's brute Superman who just runs in and punches people and especially a Superman that is influenced by Wonder Woman. I might be wrong maybe the WW and Superman relationship will not play a big part in a wrong way in the trinity war and maybe I've been reading Geoff John wrong especially issue 12 with that preview. But still a brute Superman is not my Superman.

@g_man: Orion has always kinda been portrayed as a violent jerk. See Cosmic Odyssey for reference. Likewise, Wonder Woman did things like what she did to Orion all the time before the New 52. Remember in Identity Crisis, when she uses her lasso to interrogate Slipknot? She almost pulls him through the bars. Wonder Woman has always been a kind character, but one you don't want to cross when she's pissed, or worse, if you piss her off.

I'm banned from the podcast because I only own one Batman action figure -- and it's lame.

Great podcast. I enjoy listening to the three of you. Matt is a good addition to the podcast and has a lot to offer. No offense to Sara or anything, but she said she had to cut a lot of her books for reasons unknown to me, so it's hard to comment on books you're not up to date on. Tony, Corey and Matt are on top of their game and very informative. Thanks for another great podcast.

Great Podcast [ Nuff Said ]

Not even a mention of Five Ghosts which is probably one of the best books that came out this week. Also Revival, and Mara had great issues as well. See this is the problem I have with this site sometimes, I love you guys but your stuck in your Superhero books bubble. You'll talk about Avengers and Justice League and X-Men and Spider-Man for an hour but then you'll be like "Judge Dredd came out this week" and talk about for like 5 seconds. Even in this cast Matt says "Ive read a lot of Indie Books this week" and at one point Corey is like "I want to know what you've read" and immediately Tony wants to talk about X-Force or something. The Best books on the shelves right now Indie titles mostly from Image, and they never get talked about. It's a shame...

@k3vinkha0s: It is a shame. You'd be really sad at the views for reviews for the 'indie' books. If you look at the reviews page, we do review books from other publishers. We're forced to cater to what the 'community' wants. We keep pushing the Valiant, IDW, Image, Dark Horse, etc books but the community is telling us what they want. Gregg's "Why you should read ___" is another example. We're doing what we can.

@undeadpool Completely agree with you about "ghost" Peter. I like how it is being handled in Avenging... I think I may prefer Avenging to Superior at this point. I am bored with the endless "ghost" narration of Spider-Oc's every action.

Yeah, it's understandable, I know there is only a few of you guys and its hard. It's just unfortunate, the community needs to step up too, for example you took time to review a book like Jirni this week and it gets one comment. But regardless I still visit the site every day and look forward to the podcasts every week. Five Ghosts dude! Pulpy adventure, soooo good.

Very cool and funny episode this week. Despite the absence of Sara, Mat proved to be a welcome addition to the podcast. There were times though where Mat and Cory sounded similar so I got confused. "Why is Mat laughing at his own joke? Oh that's Cory. Why is Cory agreeing with the point he just made? Oh that's Mat." I'm usually pretty good about differentiating the voices of white dudes but it was definitely a challenge to distinguish sometimes.

I'm with Cory on his thoughts about Superior Spider-Man. Having ghost Peter show up since issue 1 has been my least favorite part about the book as it makes the end of Otto's campaign on crime seem a lot more inevitable than it should be. Dead characters wait in comic book limbo all the time so I don't see why Peter can't wait for his return with diginity. I agreed with Mat's 5 stars for the issue completely.

Other than that I read Thunderbolts and Wunda Wuhmahn! For the record Tony I will never eat your butt, even if I was starving. Even if I did I wouldn't add mayo nor tomato slices. Thanks and keep up the great work!

@undeadpool (not that Corey ever seems to show up in these comments): I'm not sure the lack of success of the likes of Ravagers and Team 7 is simply to do with lack of marketing, it could also be that people tried and didn't like them, and an 'anti-buzz' arose. The debut issues of the aforementioned two, for example, were enough for me ... Ravagers, especially, was hobbled before it started by being so tied to the awful Harvest/NOWHERE business from DC's Young Justice books. I hear it got better, but I simply didn't like the characters enough to give it a second chance; my sanity couldn't take any more of that pretendy-Brit monster boy, for one thing.

I'm with you about the differences in the way women and men are portrayed in comics. And while it's not enough to make me write off the whole comic, Starfire's outfit in the latest Red Hood and the Outfit is rather pathetic. Is this really what DC thinks we wish to see?

And 'Frazer' (Irving) is not the same as 'Frasier'.

As regard the comment that you guys don't talk about Nintendo enough, really, you do. There's already enough games talk for a show meant to be about comics. There seems to be no concept that not every comics fan plays video games.

So far as catching up on questions is concerned, how about limiting each poster to one question per episode, so we don't have one poster get three answered and others none at all?

I'd say there's little to no buzz around either of those titles, good or bad, and regardless: it's up to the publisher to start the hype/promotion before the books are released so at least they can reach a certain number of people to get word of mouth going.

And yeah, I was really disappointed to see them backslide on Starfire, especially after her awesome shipboard costume from a couple of arcs ago.

I forgot to say, as regards that chap wishing to indoctrinate his daughter in the ways of comics, leave her alone! The comics will be around and if she gravitates to them fine; and as Corey says, if she likes the Disney princesses, is that so bad? She may end up with a fun career in animation. Or princessing.

I can just imagine how annoyed I'd be if anyone had tried to shove footie down my throat. Or Kiss records.
