Piccolo is by far one of Dragonball's most popular and beloved characters, but his origins differ depending on the series you follow. In Dragonball he was a demon, but in Dragonball Z he's retconned into being an alien, much like his former rival Goku, even though some aspects of his Namelian nature don't gel with what we see of his formerly demonic self (such as not requiring food to live despite having fangs & being seen eating before, or giving birth to a wide variety of devilish offspring who look little like baseline Namekians except for being green & scaly etc). Now granted, Piccolo is AWESOME no matter what his origins, & Toriyama has admitted to a lack of forethought & planning when he originally began Dragonball, hence why some aspects of later story retcons don't gel as well as others, HOWEVER, I'd like to know how many fans actually preferred his original demon clan origins over his more well known alien self, or vice versa.
