The Phoenix has had various hosts, but the most well known and frequent host is the mortal mutant Jean Grey.

    Recently while speaking to my brother about Hope Summers we stumbled into the topic of her using the Phoenix Force. We both found it odd that even though the Phoenix force is an entity that takes possession of a host it somehow manifest itself in almost all of Jean Grey's children. It seems more like it's some kind of mutation now rather then what it began as. Just wondering if i can get some feedback on why this seems to be the case.

    @Catracio: If helps in any way I think it was the Phoenix Force doing it, like it like being with Jean so much it created a perfect simulacrum of her but without her 'will and memories' to get in the way so it more like the Phoenix Force abusing it, but then could be wrong. If I'm right even one part then who watches the watchmen when comes to cosmic entities?

    Because Jean Grey is it's flesh it only makes sense that her children would inherit "Phoenix genes", and it has only shown interest in one, Rachel because her genes and psi sig match Jeans the most.  Before she died Jean Grey's tk was the ultimate mutation a telekinetic sensitivity so extreme` that it was regarded as a manifestation of the Phoenix
