The Amazing Spider-Man Special Edition #1

Plot (main)

Peter’s back and apparently knows nothing about Ock’s doings,despite the 30-something memories.He goes to fight crime,and gets naked in front of 3 hot chicks…..but this is Peter,so it is a bad thing.Anyway,he comes back home,from the fight(yes it was a fight…..get your mind of the gutter) and sees Anna Maria sitting on his couch,saying that she put two and two together,and that she knows he’s Spider-Man.

There are 4 more stories there,but,hell I won’t list em all,read the thing,I’m here for the main plot.

Thoughts

So…..i can’t properly judge the quality if this issue,because nothing particularly happened,and nothing left me with a bitter feeling…so it’s a normal issue,I guess.

Writing is good.Average,nothing fancy,just like the story.

But,there is an alibi they can use to defend this issue,and it is this.It’s a #1 and it sets up some stuff for the future issues….the fact that it didn’t start terrible,and didn’t made me angry(yet) is good.I didn’t expect an enormous masterpiece,and I didn’t get one.So everything’s home……You have to expect that in the first 5 issues.Slott will count on the aspect that we’re happy that Peter’s back,and that we will forgive some flaws,or “misfits”…..

Some practical stuff.

Peter has absolutely no idea how to run a company,and he just keeps saying “it’s a responsibility” and only that…..i haven’t seen the guy be happy for even a moment that he has a freaking company,and that he,probably makes thousands a month,and millions a year,plus projects,that potentially can make him billions!!.....i mean,when you DON’T have money you complain,when you have TOO much money you complain…..Peter Dorker.

And there is an aspect of Slott’s writing.SUBPLOTS!!!

Jonah’s one has him deside to be a newsman again,but finding out that Bugle is crapping on him,and quitting the idea.That’s it,a page.

And the other 3 subplots are 3(4) panels.Avengers see the naked thing on TV and come to the conclusion that it is Peter Parker……It was THAT shocking easy to do?...get naked on TV,by accident,and then Spider-Woman would tell,”It’s Peter,alright!” like she did??....and we had 31 issues of people acting like complete and utter idiots??......these kind of stuff irritate the crap out of me.

Cap is his usual “Superior Spider-Man” self.The “I don’t know if it is Spider-Man,I cant trust him,I need proof,but I am not getting any,I just declare loudly that I need it” gig…..

Mary Jane was the most normal thing in the book.2 panels.One:She sees the naked thing on the YouTubes.Two:She closes the laptop,and says “Idiot”.Brilliant.Simple yet brilliant.

Now,the art is lovable!

Humberto does very good,with some flaws,but everyone who knows me knows that I am very charming knows that I am hating on Ramos since his Peter Parker:Spider-Man run with Jenkins….and here I wasn’t disturbed at all,his art was good,with Spider-Man himself being the pick!....Sajani and Anna Maria looked a tad off,but it’s totally ok.

I am not commenting on all the sub-stories,because I don’t care about Peter going to Houston to learn about Kaine,cause New Warriors is a crappy book,and what Electro’s about lately.

Now,one story is Peter David’s Miggy series prequel.It’s basically Miggy observing the environment around him,because he lives in the past(his past at least) and it’s pretty cool.It’s like 5 pages but it’s never bad to see 5 pages of quality writing.If that’s what we get from the 2099 series,every issue won’t fall beyond 4 stars.

There’s a prequel story for Learning to Crawl,but the first issue comes out next week,so what’s the point?

Now,to the part I care,because the people who know me,know that I am a lovable person I care about this lady a whole lot……the Black Cat story :

She’s in the joint,and she’s literally hating on Spider-Man.She says that he ruined her life,exposed her,and that she basically lost everything,because “Spidey” smacked her up a bit,and tied her to a wall.

She brakes outta prison(well,duh) and says that she will “play” with Spider-Man’s life,and then take his life(!!!!).

Yes.Felicia Hardy,one of the few people Peter can actually trust,and vice-versa…..is saying that she will take a slow revenge,and then kill him.

Okay,okay…..i understand the anger.I understand the argument that she lost everything because of the ID exposition, I understand the crave for revenge(she’s not totally in her head,we all knew that) but killing,the only man you actually loved?....hell,the man you are obsessed with,no matter the surcubstances in your life,at any given time!??.....well,that’s the definition of excessive.Now she’ll become a full-on enemy of his?....wha-WHY!!??

It’ sthe perfect opportunity for a relationship!!.....MJ believed the nonsense about Ock,after 2 lined of dialog,why not try it with Felicia?!!...i am 100% sure the “stupid bug” that MJ had in the Superior saga will be in Felicia’s head now…..she won’t see the obvious,and won’t accept anything but her own version……stupid.

Anyway,Let’s see where this is gonna go…..
