Don't be sad. The headline is a little misleading.

I'm not actually retiring from writing... but I do plan on going to bed every night reading Renae De Liz's adaptation of PETER PAN, as soon as it comes out!

    No Caption Provided

Yes, that's right -- the same Kickstarter sensation that brought you WOMANTHOLOGY is back to her drawing table working day and night producing a nearly 100-page full color graphic novel adaptation of PETER PAN! This is only the first of three parts, and you get to get in on the ground floor -- how exciting is that?

Now, I've personally worked with Renae and her inking/coloring husband before on JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT'S THE MUSIC BOX and I can tell you not only is she incredibly talented, she is all around a genuinely awesome person. (Remember, this is the same woman who came up the idea for WOMANTHOLOGY and through sheer force of will helped turn her vision into one of KICKSTARTER's most successful projects ever!)

    No Caption Provided

I love that Renae is once again eschewing the bigger publishing companies and taking her wares directly to the people who appreciate her the most. And I love that she's putting her talents towards a classic like PETER PAN, bringing all the wonder and excitement of Peter and Wendy and Hook and the Lost Boys to future generations for years to come!

Now you'll notice that with three days to go she has already hit her funding goal, but she's racing towards her stretch goal and I want to support her in her efforts. Because as the Internet can surely attest, Renae De Liz rocks!

You can find out all the information by checking out the Kickstarter page:

    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/renaedeliz/peter-pan-the-graphic-novel-vol-1

I don't know if it is a great idea to have your email there Scott.

Having said that, I saw this on Kickstarter and the art looks great. Peter Pan is a hard sell though. It has been done so many times in so many different ways. I'm not sure how interested I am in that story anymore. Call it something else and I'll probably give it a better look.

This seems to have a lot of backers as it is. I wish it the best of luck -- as I wish any independent comics the best of luck.

@Scott_Lobdell: I totally thought this was about you somehow moving into Michael Jackson's old estate. I was wondering where you got the money for that purchase.

The art makes me think of a mix of Colleen Doran, P. Craig Russell, and Mike Kaluta. So...I guess what I'm saying is that it looks, as was stated above, gorgeous.

Yes, because this dude ate my lasagna one time at a restaurant while I was using the restroom and that's not cool. He even used my fork. Which is disgusting. Also, I was really hungry and hadn't eaten all day.

    Below the belt.

I understand that he is a professional, but comic book fans have been known to be very opinionated. Especially online where faces can't be seen.

Lobdell's writing tends to attract a mixed bag -- strong supporters and strong opposers. I am only suggesting that he shouldn't have his email here because I fear that he might get death threats or something of that sort. I'm only trying looking out for him.

I think this is the part where I quote Ali G; "Check yourself. Boo-ya-ka-sha."

    I MUST HAVE THIS!

My friends called me Peter Pan because I didn't want to grow up. Plus, I have recently acquired J.M. Barrie's original tale. I love Peter Pan's story... Every incarnation of it!
