The editor of the Daily Planet, the newspaper where Clark Kent (Superman) works. A hard taskmaster, but a very loveable character. Edit

History

Perry White was born in the slum area of Metropolis. He never had a father figure, his dad going to war overseas. He worked as a copy boy at the Daily Planet where he would commit to this newspaper company, working his way up to editor. Perry also was friends with Lex Luthor when they were both young.

When Perry got promoted to a reporter, he was to investigate a string of racial related murders. Here, he met Franklin Stern who had missing family members in the region. They had both gotten off to a rocky start, though Perry saved Franklin from a group called the Aryan Brotherhood. There were rumours that the Brotherhood experimented with genetics. Soon they found a hidden lair which led the Brotherhood's and found several black men and discovered their plan to create a race of super men. Perry got the story first to the Daily Planet and won the Pulizter Prize for doing so. However, both Perry and Franklin remained good friends.

Lex Luthor was growing with his company LexCorp, in which he bought the Daily Planet. Lex sold it however in deciding to invest in television and technology. Lex offered Perry to work with him, though he turned it down. Perry found an investor to save the Daily Planet, as long as Perry was promoted to editor.

Perry then married a lady called Alice Spencer. They had a son called Jerry White, and later, when he had grown into an adult, Perry learnt that Lex was Jerry's biological father. Lex had seduced her when Perry was reporting for a war and was thought to be dead. Perry then was impressed with Lois Lane, when she was 15 and she lied about her age trying to get employment at the Daily Planet. After Jerry White died from a gunshot, Perry left the Daily Planet for a period of time. Later on, Perry and Alice adopt an African-American called Keith Robert, who later changed his name to Keith Robert White. Perry had sick leave due to cancer in his lungs, though after many months of chemotherapy, he became better.

The paper continued to struggle, and the owner, Franklin Stern sold it to Lex Luthor. Lex disowned the paper, firing everyone employed there except Lois and Jimmy Olsen and two others were to work at his company. Lex sold it to Bruce Wayne and Perry was back in his old position and the rest were hired as well. Perry also suspects that Clark and Superman are the same person, but he has never been able to confide in anyone about it.
