    The Story: Penguin meets a woman named Cassandra who he falls for. He sends his men to relieve a woman of her diamond ring which catches Batman's attention. My Thoughts:Gregg Hurwitz is only three issues in to this six issue mini-series and he's already increased my respect for Penguin. I was never crazy about the Penguin before but now I look at him differently. I'm not going to say he's my favorite villain now, but he's certainly moved up on the list.     Better than a Gas-filled Umbrella 0

    The story is still great as Penguin continues to prove his bonafides as a ruthless gangster. I love the twists and turns that the story takes as the death of his mother in issue 2 seemed to have derailed the main thread of the story up to that point. We get a great artistic moment where panels alternate between an example of his ruthlessness and beneficence There's also another GREAT Joker sight gag.     Hurwitz and Kudranski return with one of the finest comics on shelvesThe Good: Penguin is oftentimes a hated figure both in universe and by the legions of Batman fanboys that keep much of DC comics going. He's lacks the cultural aura of the Joker, Catwoman, and Two-Face; he lacks the inherent supervillain skillset that is a blind requirement for some creators to make a character a legitimate threat.
