    Biography

    Sir Patrick Stewart was born in Mirfield, Yorshire, England and began theater acting at a young age. He went on to become a Shakespearean stage actor before landing the role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in TV's Star Trek: The Next Generation, gaining him nearly instant fame.

    He remains to be an established actor on film and in theater, as well as a voice actor. For his achievements, he was knighted by the Queen of England in 2010.

    Sir Patrick was cast as the founder of the X-Men in 2000, Professor Charles Xavier. It is generally regarded as a "dream cast" by the fans, Stewart being a near perfect fit for the character.
