It is what it is
This movie lacked a serious storyline. The character development was pretty weak, and because of this I had a hard time caring if the humans won or not. It's obvious that the focus was really placed on the action and effects aspect of the movie. I get that that's what they were aiming for, but it was still disappointing. I don't think you need to sacrifice story for action. You can have both, but unfortunately this film does not. It's not as bad as other monster flicks, but once you see it, you'll know what I mean.
