Original Sin #5 review. Nick Fury is probably Earth's greatest protector, however, he's still only human.

    The Good

Best cover of the entire series!
Best cover of the entire series!

Frank Martin's cover for this issue was amazing! The cover is what I enjoy most about this issue; just because of the composition of how this cover was made. Definitely worth hanging on your wall!

So in this issue, Nick Fury seeks a replacement as, protector of Earth! With the realNick Fury old, and his body aging rapidly, the team he established to find out all the work he's done over the years (and to find out who killed the Watcher), was really a test to find out who will be his next suitable replacement. However, the heroes he assembled might not be too happy, when old man Nick won't give them the answer as to, "Who?", killed the Watcher. This is certainly an issue that shouldn't be passed up!

    Nick's duty.
    Nick's duty.

I enjoyed what writer, Jason Aaron, did with this issue. From having the Watcher get murdered, get his eyes stolen, reveal secrets to popular Marvel characters to, Nick Fury revealing that he's Earth's greatest protector and is seeking a replacement. Aaron is doing an outstanding job with this issue, and series, story! I'm assuming that Fury murdered The Watcher (because of how Fury keeps avoiding answering Who killed him), but I like how Aaron is still playing with hidden secrets. (And Fury is at the center of them at the moment!) How Jason Aaron handles Fury's character is really cool, because you understand that he's just one man doing a job that gives other superheroes the option to not kill the villain. And this really makes you wonder how things would be if Fury wasn't around doing his job. So Jason Aaron playing around with Nick Fury's character, and centering this issue around still hidden secrets and Fury's replacement, was the makings of a great issue!

    The Bad

    N/A.

    The Verdict

5 out of 5. Until the next issue. (Onwards and upwards!) I'm on Twitter, @Lol_Clark. (Plus, check out my movie review for Batman: Assault on Arkham.)

Filler for an Already Slow-Moving Event 0

The Original Sin event, while good, has reminded me of just why I don't like events generally; there's way too many characters involved, situations feel very scattered and muddled, and they always seem to last a bit too long, extending it as far as possible in hopes of retaining a steady series to make a quick buck. And, while Original Sin has done a lot better than this, especially with the character development presented in last issue, this issue dive-bombs straight into the ground, bringing ...
