Onslaught! Ben Urich and his nephew Phil are walking the strangest of beats as the huge sentinels are decimating New York City! And the goblin faces his greatest enemy - his self-esteem!
Plot
They relay news of the attack to the Daily Bugle, just as a huge Sentinel takes out the newspaper's electricity. Lynn, Meredith, and Phil run up to the roof to get a better look, and are awestruck by the widespread destruction. Lynn and Meredith leave to get a street-level view, and Phil summons his glider. All this time, fear grips the youth, and feelings of uncertainty. Even as he dons the brain-sizzling mask, Phil is pre-occupied with doubts and fears.
When the Goblin attacks the Sentinel, he is greeted only with failure! His pumpkin bombs don't make a dent in the Sentinel's thick armor, and his razor-bat blades only put scratches on the robot's shiny head. Phil tries his maniacal laugh last, and that seems to have an effect, making the Sentinel shake. But, a solid blow landed by the huge android sends Goblin and glider alike sliding into an alleyway. Beaten and desperate, Phil chucks the goblin-mask, and the Sentinel, no longer detecting super-human powers, leaves Phil alone in the alleyway.
Mired in self-pity, Phil recalls his escapades as the Green Goblin, from the fateful night in the Osborn warehouse where he saved his uncle's life by using the Goblin-gear to the most recent adventure against Angel Face. He wonders why people like Spider-Man or Daredevil risk their lives constantly to save lives, and why characters like the Scarlet Spider disappear after a little while. After a little soul-searching, Phil sucks it up, picks his mask back up, and jumps back on his glider!
The Sentinel, recognizing that Phil had re-gained his powers, begins again in his attempts to destroy Phil. However, after a little tricky flying and some slick maneuvering, Phil puts his glider on a suicide run for the Sentinel's head! It slams through the robot's metal cranium, causing a huge explosive. However, a piece of shrapnel from the explosion hits Phil's mask, and totals it!
The Dark Beast offers himself, Random, Havok, and Fatale to Onslaught.
A Sentinel Forge used for training springs to life and attacks X-Factor. Fatale appears and teleports away witht the Sentinel, Mystique, and Sabretooth.
Jean Grey's distress signal regarding Onslaught is intercepted by Fatale before it can get to X-Factor.
Havok and Fatale reappear and Havok attacks Polaris and Random. Fatale orders Random to kill X-Factor but he refuses and Havok attacks him. Random loses control of his powers and reveals himself to be a scrawny teenager.
Forge discovers reprogrammed Sentinels scheduled to attack humans in New York and battles Post.
Fatale brings Forge to the Dark Beast who also has Mystique and Sabretooth. McCoy asks them to join Onslaught and prove their allegiance by killing Forge. Sabretooth and Mystique instead turn on McCoy, Fatale appears and teleports him away to safety.
Onslaught and Beyond Tie-In
As London burns, the Red Queen, Margali Szardos, is fused with the head of Douglock, whose body is serving as a conduit to a devil beneath the city. Excalibur flies through the flames into the city, past the Black Air headquarters, the Blackwall. Pete Wisdom sees his old nemesis Scratch running away from the building and tells Nightcrawler to open the hatch. He says goodbye to Kitty, nearly kissing her and jumps out the hatch after Scratch. Nightcrawler preps the team before they do the same into the Black Air building.
On Muir Island Moira is surprised as Amanda Sefton falls from the sky out of nowhere. She warns Moira that her mother, Margali the Red Queen is about to do something horrible. The last time she had seen her, Margali had killed every magician ahead of her on the Winding Way, the required path for magicians to wield greater power, and said she would suck the Devil under London dry of its power. The X-Men arrive- Cannonball, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Psylocke, and Archangel. Jean informs Moira that Xavier lost his mind and became Onslaught. Cyclops asks Moira about a room underneath Muir that would help them. Moira believes there is Shi'ar technology in a crypt she had built as a favor to Xavier.
In London, Ms. Steed killed the Black King who apparently had gone insane as a result of their scheme to tap the Devil's power. Brian Braddock, back in an augmented Captain Britain suit immune to psychic attack, was saved from the same fate. He senses Mountjoy behind him, who has taken Scribe as a host. Mountjoy holds Braddock and tells Steed to kill him.
Excalibur enters the Blackwall only to find Black Air's security forces killing each other, driven mad. Colossus takes care of them while the rest of the team moves on.
Beneath Muir Island, Cyclops and Jean Grey are escorted by Moira into the crypt where they are greeted by a holo-projection of Xavier next to a floating suit. Moira remarks that the room recognized their "brainprints" and unlocked Xavier Protocol 000. The projection explains that Xavier created some defenses against his own psychic abilities in case he became a mortal threat to the X-Men and must be stopped and offers blueprints for the suit. Archangel enters the room to let them know that Amanda Sefton has left and the projection, recognizing Warren Worthington, displays Xavier Protocol 021. To their shock, its Xavier's plan in case Wolverine has become a danger to life. The projection explains that Wolverine's head must be severed and removed from the vicinity of his body. Jean cries that Xavier was plotting ways to kill the X-Men when he went to his study.
Back in London, Wisdom chases after Scratch and the two exchange volleys of their powers.
Amanda Sefton, exhausted, teleports herself across England trying to get to London.
At the Hellfire Club, Ms. Steed prepares to psionically skin Captain Britain but not before he manages to knock Mountjoy off of him. He projects his force field at Steed, knocking her out. Meanwhile in the Blackwall, Excalibur runs into some techno-organic Warliquids and Meggan takes care of them as the rest of the team moves on. They then run into the Red King who threatens to kill them if they try to pass him. Nightcrawler tells Kitty to take Wolfsbane and phase through the door and that he'll oblige the Red King in a sword fight. Nightcrawler swiftly defeats him.
Wisdom and Scratch continue their battle in a toy store and come to a standstill in which both is one strike from killing the other. Mountjoy fires some mutant killing bullets that slowly penetrate Captain Britain's forcefield.
On Muir, Psylocke and Cannonball enter the room and Xavier Protocol 193 plays, explaining that Cable should be attacked by exploiting his techno-organic virus. Moira has heard enough and downloads everything and gives it to Jean.
Back at Black Air, Margali is unwillingly bound to Douglock's head. Kitty tries to hook a laptop up to him. Amanda teleports in and tells Nightcrawler the power source is a demon beneath London. Kitty gets access to Douglock, (who is apparently Win95 compatible), and deletes the newest file. Meanwhile, Captain Britain shuts up Mountjoy and knocks him out with a punch.
Wisdom and Scratch's standoff continues when Lockheed flambes Scratch and speaks to Wisdom saying "I still 'ate yoo".
Douglock is back to consciousness but is hardwired to the tomb beneath London. Nightcrawler teleports the team to the tomb, Wolfsbane severs Douglock's link to it, and Amanda attacks the Devil, sealing it in the tomb. Margali fades away. Excalibur leaves the Black Air building triumphant.
The Avengers help the X-Men with a plan on how to defeat Onslaught!
Pete Wisdom wonders if an old acquaintance named Scratch kidnapped Douglock and suspects if he did, that Douglock is dead. Wisdom recalls a confrontation he had with Scratch in which he mutilated Scratch for bragging about killing people in a school to get to an alien artifact. Kitty remarks that Wisdom scares her sometimes. Meggan happens upon a file about bribe money going to members of Parliament to allow Black Air to take over the W.H.O. and that the money originated from "The Earl of Bute Society". Wisdom, surprised, tells Meggan that the Earl of Bute was the 8th century founder of the Hellfire Club. They piece together that Alistaire Stuart believed the Hellfire Club was paying for bribes to politicians and that Shinobi Shaw said they were doing the same.
In London, Scribe tells Brian Braddock that the Hellfire Club is attempting to tap an ultimate power source beneath the city using the Red Queen as a radio. Braddock reaches for a phone. Back at Muir Island, Wisdom arranges to exchange some information with his friend Jardine that will help bring down Black Air and the Hellfire Club. After he hangs up, Braddock calls and explains what Scribe told him.
At the Hellfire Club, the Black King is angry about the Black Queen and himself not being consulted regarding the Red Queen (Margali Szardos) testing their secret project before it was ready. The Red King explains they needed to test it and that they will have computer guided hellfire as a weapon. They move on to the Blackwall, the HQ for Black Air. The Black Queen (Ms. Steed) greets the Black Air representatives Scicluna and Threadgold as her servants. Threadgold doesn't appreciate it. The Red King explains that their project involves using magic once practiced by King James as written in the Malleus Maleficarium. He walks to a podium in the center of the room and takes a sheet off the head of Douglock whose strewn out body is to serve as their conduit to their power source. The Red Queen begins the physical link and a devil appears in a crypt beneath the city.
The next morning, Braddock wonders about returning to his role as Captain Britain. Excalibur readies their ship. Ms. Steed receives a surprising psionic message from Onslaught asking if she is ready. At the Blackwall, the Red Queen makes out with the Red King and asks him if he will die for her, he unsheathes his sword. The Red Queen holds Douglock's head to begin to siphon the power source but it overwhelms her, the Blackwall catches fire, pillars of fire erupt around the city provoking riots and looting. A Devil emerges, towering over London in flames.

Rogue fights for her freedom, until Bastion takes Stevie captive and Rogue is knocked out to save him.
She is taken to a base, where Bastion is planning on destroying the whole base. Suddenly, the base starts melting away, and Rogue is saved by a man claming to be named Joseph. Rogue thinks she is being decieved, as he looks very much like Magneto. She fights him briefly, before trying to make peace with him after she realizes he is different. They manage to fight their way to safety, and Rogue once again apoligizes to Joseph.
Humanity's Last stand finds them, and Joesph makes it look like he and Roguewere killed when he detonates missiles in the middle of where they were. They return to Melody's house, and say good bye, taking Rogue's car to an unknown location.
