Origin
Grant Shade is a private detective who, because of some of his findings about a gangster named Corso and his traffic, undergoes an ambush and is thrown almost dead in an artificial lake of toxic water and chemicals of various kinds. Immersed in these liquids, Shade is healed from his wounds and manages to escape death, but when it leaves the lake, discovers he has gained other powers by the chemical bath: he and his clothes have become invisible: thus, he is no more Grant Shade, the investigator. For everyone, including his partner Ann, Shade is dead. What remains is an individual who decides to use his invisibility to attack those who tried to kill him and then to protect those he loved, becoming a shadow in the service of justice.
Creation
The character was created by Alfredo Castelli and Ferdinando Tacconi in 1974 for Il Corriere dei Ragazzi.
