    That bad, that quick 6

So OMAC rampages. That's it.  The Good The Look: O.M.A.C. certainly looks rather interesting. The blue skin, the sort-of-mohawk and the shiny elements on his design make him interesting to look at. The sparks from his - for lack of a better word - mane make me instantly go "Wow, what an interesting character" because he doesn't look anything like any of the other characters. I greatly appreciate DC going out on a limb and daring new things. O.M.A.C. is not a sure bestseller like Batman or Superm...

    Objects May Appear Closer... 1

Dan Didio and Keith GIffen go retro in their relaunch of O.M.A.C., replicating as much of Jack Kirby's style as they possible can. That, however, does not automatically make it good, and the duo unfortunately focus more on copying Kirby than delivering a good first issue.  It is hard to describe what happens in this issue, because it jumps right into the middle of the action and leaves me immediately lost. I am a reader who is only barely familiar with Kirby's original O.M.A.C., and it feels a b...

    A Pleasant Surprise 0

I have never been a huge detractor of Dan Didio's. I don't mind his executive decisions, his convention appearances or a handful of other reasons why he often earns fanboy disdain. That said, I thus far haven't been a huge fan of his writing. I struggled through Outsiders, offering a singular cheerful thumbs up to his Reign of Doomsday tie-in, which somehow worked, but found myself often confused why he was writing the title.  With O.M.A.C., however, I found myself to be the one with a rather pl...

    OMAC SMASH! 0

This book is neither bad nor good. It's an average book, but there in lies the problem. It is an average book and as such is actually much worse than a bad book.   The fact of the matter is when compared to the trash offerings of DCnU this week and how badly they did at reintroducing their characters this story does an excellent job of introducing the story, setting the stage for what is to come , and even though the main character is only on 1 page we get more insight into his character than mo...

    Overall Maybe Actually Competent 1

The Good: Kieth Giffen's art is very mixed for me. I absolutely HATED his fill-in art for Outsiders, but he did have to be compared to Philip Tan, RADICALLY different style. But overall it just didn't 'work' on Outsiders. But when he did fill-in art for an issue of Doom Patrol it was actually pretty great. Giffen's art does indeed work for OMAC. The wild over-the-top smashing lends itself well to this comic, injecting the kind of shock value that the characters are receiving. And not shock value...

Hulk styled action makes this a fun read. 0

O.M.A.C. was never someone I cared for or knew much about so DC's New 52 gave me a chance to be a new reader and give the character a try. After finishing "O.M.A.C." #1 I have to say I had fun with it. Keith Giffen and Dan DiDio write the issue which really does a nice job of being both a character introduction for new readers and a first part of a pretty cool story arc. There's some really well executed sci-fi elements to the story that tend to work much better than the few attempts we get at ...

    My Omac Review 0

I finished the first issue of omac from the new 52 now the writer Dan didio the executive at dc comics this was actually my first comic reading from him so i was interested to see how he can redefine a Jack Kirby creation. What really impressed me and i have to give a shout out to this the art by Keith Giffen i really felt at home as if it were drawn by jack Kirby himself that really felt great so props to that .Overall omac is a good comic i don't want to say anything about the story that should...

    One. More. Alarming. Cashgrab. 0

Is it Synchronicity or me being mean that I am reviewing Dan Didio's O.M.A.C. as my 666 review? I just wanted to point this out. I lost track of the numbers and I originally wanted to review Batman 666, but whattheheck someone needs the 666 homage and might as well be the greedy Devil who claimed the Vertigo characters to do this revamp in the first place.Okay, rant done and time for the review. To be honest this this issues was the overall worst of the second week of 52. It could be the simple ...

    No longer a concern 0

I must say that I do in certain ways like this comic and I can see some potential in it, but at the same time it is a mostly average book.  It is not so much the writing, as the concept, and the concept is not even that flawed, just it seems to be too much of a stretch at times.  Granted there is a strong connection between the name O.M.A.C. and the Brother Eye but here it is not only the Infinite Crisis connection but a bit also of the Kirby influence.  That having being said it is paying a bit...
