The ODST Battlearmor is the standard BDU issued to the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. the armor os considered the thrid best in the UNSC behind the SPARTAN-II MJOLNIR armor and the SPARTAN-III SPI armor. ODST armors are vacuum rated for fifteen minutes of use outside a ship. The armor is rated for balistics protection greater than normal marine armor and contains temperature controls with thermal insulation. This allows ODST's to operate anywhere. ODST armor includes so upgrades that were initially desinged for the MJOLNIR armor such as the titanium armor plates and HUD inside the helmet allowing for advanced recon and intel. Traditional ODST armor is standard black though urban camo is a comman choice as well. The suit provides excellent stealth, defense, as well as freedom of movment. Covenant energy weapons, high explosives, and armor pierceing rounds must still be avoided.
Close Quarters - Armor generally worn for close quaters engagements. CQB armor variants are also issue to demolitions experts. Additonal armor over the shoulders protects unite during firefights and additonal optical gear allows CQB's to relay information to team members.
Sharpshooter - The Sharpshooter armor variant is issued to sniper experts in the field. This variant is designed to give an ODST sharpshooter more freedom in combat. The normal pauldrons on the right shoulder are removed to allow more dexterity with the sniper rifle. while the standard left pauldron is replaced with a larger plate to protect the sniper's arm from counter attacks. The Sharpshooter variant is issued with an optics device attached to the ODST helmet, allowing the sniper rifles scope to be intergrated directly into the helmets HUB..
Recon - Recon armor is a special variant given to ONI field agents during combat. The chest plate is changed to ass more stralth capability with all shoulder paldrons removed for more freedom of movement. This reflects ONI's desire to remain out of the public eye.
