Ocean is a member of America's newest mutant superhero team, O-Force. Like all potential recruits, Ocean had to compete in a live television program, hosted by Solomon O'Sullivan, to win a place on the O-Force team.
On a mission with O-Force, Ocean tried to free a town that was terrorized by a mutant boy named Arnie Lundberg. Fighting Lundberg's army of exploding animated corpses, Ocean was caught in one of the explosions and lost her legs. She was deserted by the rest of her teammates, but was rescued by Orphan of the team X-Statix. After Orphan made peace with Lundberg, he had the boy regrow Ocean new legs.
