Do you think they'll ever make a Nova movie?

It would have potential.

No. He's not well known enough.

Sadly, he's a minor character right now.
But I knew Blade (who's also a minor character compared to X-Men, FF, Hulk, Spidey, Iron Man)  thanks to the movies and not the comics, so who knows, maybe in the future :)

I think that would be a very awesome movie for Marvel to do. They wouldn't have to change much, especially if they did something like Annihilation that had everything a summer blockbuster calls for in my opinion.

Not going to happen.

Ghost Rider, Daredevil and Blade did it, in no way were they better known than Nova back then

Out of all of those movies, Blade was the best. Compared to other comic book adaptions, Blade is nothing.

I'm speaking of the lack of knowledge those characters had, not quality. Is obvious that if I bring up the Ghost Rider and Daredevil movies I ain't in a conversation about good movies

GR and DD are still fairly well known, but I agree that hardly anyone (outside of comics) had heard of Blade until the movie came along.  But Blade was an adult film that would appeal to fans of vampires, clubs, dance music and a good action movie... ultimately the movies hardly did anything for sales.
Given the current recession, I doubt that Marvel would want to risk wasting millions of dollars on making a potential flop.  I mean, if you think about it, what kind of film would a Nova film be?  Big explosions, and sci-fi for all the family.  And after the Fantasic Four movies... I doubt that they're going to do that again.

they should make a Nova movie, Quasar movie and a drax movie all explaining who they are and how they get there powers! then they should make an annihilation trilogy! but make them darker and more serious than FF but still with some humor! that would be awseome but none of these movies will ever get made!

#17 Posted by mv (1876 posts) - - Show Bio

Never say never it could happen one day

#18 Posted by Satyrquaze (4542 posts) - - Show Bio

As with the example of "Blade" if some major actor puts up some money and gets a producer credit it could get made.

I hope they do, my question would be who would they explain Nova with explaining the New Warriors. I feel that they should come out with the Civil War movie first and mention Nova a few times to get people wondering. Pretty much the same way they did with Nick Fury in Ironman, and Tony Stark in Hulk. People will be more into something when they are left in the dark. Starting with the Annihilation would be stupid and trying to tie in other characters to him would take away from him. My real questions are who would play Richard Rider and who would be his enemy?

No but I can dream

I'm not normally a fan of anime but I would love to see Nova done Japanese style

they have done Wolverine and here's their job on Ironman
(due out this year as a 12 ep series from animax アニマックス)

There was an interview with Kevin Feige a while back talking about the Avengers movie project. He also mentioned he'd love to do a space epic. So I think the cosmic side of Marvel is in the minds of the movie producers. But it'd be such a mega budget production, it'd be risky.

#25 Posted by scuzz2.0 (273 posts) - - Show Bio

if marvel made a space epic it would more likely be about quasar, warlock or captain marvel. nova is my fave character but unfortunately hes nowere near first on the list, it would be even harder now there making a gl movie.

Very unlikely, since
1) he is not very known
2) Cosmic superhero stories don´t work on screen. They just don´t

He is rising in popularity, but with how many popular characters still haven't been used I wouldn't count on it anytime soon.
