Not much happens in this issue beyond some setting up for what comes next, but it's not bad. I just wish there was a little more to keep us invested, especially with that stellar cover.

This issue has a lot to do with the setting up for the New Warriors (which just premiered the other day), and honestly, that's probably the biggest gripe I have with this book. When most of an issue is devoted to promoting another book that isn't even out yet, you're doing something wrong. Sure, we have some interesting interactions between Speedball, Justice, and Nova here, but it's nothing fantastic, and feels a little forced, considering that we all knew how that was gonna end.

Meanwhile, Thanos' end of things is kind of muddled with a variety of references or general terminology that's always bugged me about how this part of the Marvel Universe is handled. It always feels like everything needs to be more vague or obscure, and it just makes these parts a little difficult to read. Not only that, but it's clear that a lot of this is fairly temporary to this issue and the next, so it felt like a little too much time was used to set this part up.

The next issue promises better rewards, and I look forward to seeing what happens.

Like Mother Like Daughter, also something about New Warriors. Nova #8 review 0

Well with this issue of Nova we see Sam getting involved with the big Infinity event going on right now, however not in the way you might think. You see Sam is not flying off to new York fighting off alien invaders, no the fight is coming to his hometown of Carefree, AZ. Now this is a bit of a spoiler: Thanos becomes aware of Sam's presence on earth but because Sam is inexperienced he is really not worried about him at all but with still a little rage left over from Richard Rider and possibly th...
