NOVA #3
The Good:
Nova continues to deliver a completely immersive story with beautiful art, which, if you've been following the series so far, I'm sure is no surprise.
McGunness's art is beautiful to look at. I am convinced he was born to illustrate this book; as his signature style merges with this otherworldly story just perfectly. Combined with the beautiful colors by Marte Gracia, this is the best looking Marvel book around in my opinion.
We start to see where this story is heading in this issue and it has me itching for next month. Without spoiling anything, Sam has his work cut out for him, and it may take more than Rocket Raccoon to bail him out.
The Bad:
I really have nothing negative to say about this issue, besides the fact that I want more.
All in All...
I went into my local comic book shop today and decided that I would pick up all three issues of new NOVA series that everyone was going on about, not really expecting much simply because I don't much care for Marvel books (call it a biased if you must). But after reading the first issue, followed immediately by the second, I found myself loving the book and reluctant to read the third simply because when I had finished, I'd be stuck waiting a month for the next issue. This series is fantastic and if you haven't checked it out yet, be sure too do so!
While the series doesn't really offer anything revolutionary to the comic industry (or at least not yet) it is still a fun, beautiful, action packed book with incredible art and writing.
I'll say it again guys, the book has a price tag of $3.99 and it is well worth the cost. For the series as a whole so far, I would absolutely give it five stars. I cannot wait for the next issue and am defiantly adding this series to my monthly list!
