Nightwing #15
Eddy Barrows is back on the art and this books is much better for just having him. He draws Gotham City so well that you really get the feeling for the city when you first see it. The expressions are also very well done; the pain and agony is effective and makes you feel for the characters. Barrows has a sketchy style and it makes everything so much darker in the tone. He also draws very fluid action and makes Nightwing feel like he is moving when he draws him. The story is fantastic as well. Kyle Higgins really captures the Jokers sinister nature. Nightwing has become this interesting character with a fairly strong supporting cast and this issue really makes all the development worth it. Dick shows a very caring personality in this and that is the main difference between him and Batman and Kyle Higgins uses this to his advantage just perfectly. The ending was very emotional and really makes think of the Joker Toxin differently.
THE BAD:
When Nightwing goes over to Sonia's house, I felt that it jumped a little bit to that part. During his time in her house, something happens and then Dick pulls away and then gives a reason for doing so. The reasons seems a little weird and something that he has gotten over.
THE VERDICT: 4.5/5 (Amazing)
Nightwing is a great series. After a two issue derail, it is back to where it should be. If you don't get why Nightwing is different from Batman is a 'knock-off' then you need to read this issue because it shows the real difference. If you want a comic book with a lot of emotion, action, and brilliant characterization, this is something that you are going to want to get. This and Batgirl, I would say are the strongest Death of the Family tie ins.
