Queen of the Land of the Nightshades, a mystic dimension, Maureen took ther two children, Eve and Larry there for a visit. While there, they were attacked by the Incubis. The vile being kidnapped Larry. While her mother was dying, Eve promised she would get Larry back.

At one point, Nightshade was working undercover on the team called the Jihad while she was working for the Suicide Squad. As a member of the Jihad, she was known as Chimera.

eventually there was no more need for the Jihad undercover op. She joined the Suicide Squad. There she developed a relationship for Ben Turner but she knew that nothing would become of it. Nemesis and Deadshot were also potential suitors for nightshade.

Nightshade was soon kidnapped by he brother and this is where she appeared in her Charlton costume as she was saved and her brother was lost. Later on it's revealed that her father is one of the senators pushing for the squad to close down. Eventually she left the squad.

Day of vengeance has shown her with Detective Chimp as they tried to recruit Black Alice to fight spectre. She is currently a member of the shadowpact.
