    Origin

Howard Hall was a wealthy young scientist who after learning the mystic secrets of the east discovered how to give his shadow material qualities at will.

Donning a pair of sunglasses, a white fedora and tuxedo, and strapping a small lamp to his right leg so he always has a shadow, he became Nightshade, the Nemesis of Gangdom!

Nightshade was a new superhero who, along with The Blue Lady, and The King of Darkness were introduced in issue # 24 of Amazing Man Comics in an effort to drum up interest after their other features like Mini Midget and the Iron Skull failed to.

They also generated no interest, and the magazine folded with issue # 26.

While a number of the other heroes found in Amazing Man Comics have been retooled and revived, Nightshade, along with his white tux and his shadow, remain in comic book limbo. Although, they might have been briefly rebooted for the "Spy Shadow" segment of the 1967 Saturday morning cartoon series "Super President."
