I was absolutely devasted when Nightcrawler died in x-force 26, and have been thinking ever since about ways that he could be brought back to life. But should he? After all, we don't want him becoming the next Jean Grey, do we? Plus, his AOA counterpart seems to have taken his place. I can't make up my mind!
Nightcrawler
Character » Nightcrawler appears in 7172 issues.
Kurt Wagner is a prominent member of the X-Men and former member and leader of Excalibur. He possessed the Neyaphemian ability of teleportation, as well as incredible agility, wall scaling and a prehensile tail. Nightcrawler is a devout Catholic, contrasting his demonic appearance. He is a highly skilled swordsmen and former circus acrobat.
How/should Nightcrawler 616 come back to life?
Well my original idea was that Azazel woul bring him abck to be one fo his minioins, but instead he fights back and actually takes over the Brimstone dimensions enhancing his powers to including:
Being able to store items in the dimension and take them out at will, being able to teleport other people through the dimension, etc
But now I ahve a new idea, sicne AoA Nightcrawler is in 616.
What if they redid the Exiles, and somehow Nightcrawler is chosen to be a member of it?
That his death was an elaborate plan by mutant haters who brought his dead body to Europe to have him continue his studies to be a priest away from X-men eyes also using nanotechnology that I don't know how they can afford to mask his X-gene from Cerebro, have him become the pope, oust him as a devlish loking mutant and make people want to destroy mutantkind.
No. Dead should be dead. A revival would make his death meaningless.
Besides, we have the bad-ass AoA Kurt.

- I always liked the character, but unless they come up with a way to bring him back that is not just plain stupid, leave him dead
They should just leave Nightcrawler dead for a while. Bringing character back after they have an actual death with some meaning to it kind of takes away from their death. AoA Nightcrawler is awesome as is so at least let him get some time in
I like him as a member of the spirit plane personally. You know, Marvel doesn't actually have a death, just alternate dimensions that characters step off into. Kurts appearance there was remote (unless there was another I missed?), but that end of Marvel's business always needs a few cool characters, even if we don't get to see them on a regular basis.
...........I miss him. He was my favorite X-Man and without him, the x-men are damn near dead to me. Why is it the only time that comic creators want to honor deaths is when it involves someone I actually give a damn about.......... I swear if Jean Grey comes back, I will be very pissed off.
AoA Nightcrawler is cool. I do feel though he's too rash and angry, where as Kurt was the heart of the X-Men. Kurt's death should have meaning, but damn I miss him. But still, it adds to everything within story. Kurt's dead, Cable's dead (until Regenesis), Wolverine and Cyclops had their final disagreement, which led to their super badass fight in Schism, the aftermath being the breaking up of the X-Men into two different teams. A lot of my friends who aren't true comic book fans argue that dead characters should stay dead. And we do have AoA Kurt. Should that mean that every longtime veteran X-Man who dies should be replaced by their counterpart from another dimension? I don't know. I'm kind of undecided on the whole topic. What would be cool, however, is if Nightcrawler's spirit appealed to both Scott and Logan, got them to forgive eachother for all that's happened, and reunite the two X-Men teams. That'd be interesting :)

Nightcrawler should be taken by Valkarie to Valhala to take his rightful place with the warriors three, doesn't matter as long he gets to Valhala/heaven. We all know if anyone ever deserved this, it is Nightcrawler Kurt Wanger.
Valkyrie* Valhalla*
Too bad all mutants are abominations and could never go to any heaven, especially Kurt.
I always loved Nightcrawler....till I read the comics. Where does a character like that go? Back to the backgrounds? Saying a few cliche lines here and there? I think he really needs a STRONG direction to justify him coming back in any form. I'd rather not see the character butchered anymore.
There is a Quest on this site to find X-Men who were dead and resurected. That should be a clear sign that Kurt shouldn't come back, as much as I love him. But I enjoy reading UXF, so I think we give him a chance and let 'our' elf rest in peace, no-one ever deserved it more than him. Moreover, I don't think he would want to be resurected.
