    Deadpool's Walking-Dead-like World story, continues!

Night of the Living Deadpool continues into it's second issue! Read my review prior to this if you need a reason to read or runaway from this series.

    THE GOOD

We don't care about the supporting cast anyway, just like manners they're out the window now.
We don't care about the supporting cast anyway, just like manners they're out the window now.

Now that the story has established Deadpool in this post-apocalyptic world, we can finally start enjoying this series! With Deadpool looking for sanctuary in this zombie world and encountering more and more problems.

Killing off the supporting cast was a good move for this series. Introducing them to the series really didn't move the story along at all and only confirmed to us that there were survivors and Deadpool was the only hero left. So other than confirming to (us the readers) simple information that we could've figured out ourselves, they didn't serve any other purpose. This Deadpool series works better if Deadpool is by himself and fighting against the undead or evil survivors. Instead of adding supporting characters we are more than likely going to find annoying by the end of the issue. Good job Bunn on killing off those annoying survivors!

The artwork by Ramon Rosanas is still top notch. It's cool to see Deadpool being the only thing in color in this black-and-white world. It gives this Walking Dead parody a more Deadpool vibe.

    THE BAD

If Rick had this same attitude, the survivors would be dead by now.
If Rick had this same attitude, the survivors would be dead by now.

The Walking Dead references, that's the problem. In the first issue, they were all fun and enjoyable like a "hahaha I know what that's referring to in the Walking Dead I'm cool for knowing that", now it's like "*facepalm* sigh, ok man that's a little forced now". The series has already established that it's a parody of Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead, but now every reference is forced. Like Cullen Bunn is basically saying, "These guys love Walking Dead references, lets keep forcing some more in there". And it's true, some of them are funny and enjoyable, but a great portion of them are just a reminder to the readers that this is a parody. We got it the first couple of times that this is a parody, we don't need to be reminded every two pages.

    THE VERDICT

If you like parodies, zombies, and the Walking Dead you'll probably enjoy this series. If you hate any of those three things, you'll probably hate this series. However, this is a casual read so you don't have to be 100% dedicated to picking it up month-by-month as you could probably figure out what was happening in the series. I like where this series is going with Deadpool going solo and trying to protect a town of survivors. Should be interesting to see what happens next issue. Overall 4 out of 5.
