"I can't think of a single human being bad-ass enough to play Nick Fury. This includes Samuel L. Jackson.Ultimate Nick Fury was based on Jackson"Darth Balls said:"Samuel l Jackson was supposedly the original basis of the character nick fury. so yeah dude who could honelstly say they don't like sam jackson and don't want to see him as nick fury."Yes, Samuel L. Jackson was the basis for a white character who made his first appearance in 1963, when Jackson was 15.
Nick Fury
Character » Nick Fury appears in 4274 issues.
Nicholas Joseph Fury served in World War II as the leader of the Howling Commandos. He later became an agent, and eventually director, of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury is one of the greatest strategic minds in the world, a born leader and a master of espionage. He currently serves as a replacement Watcher.
Who do you think could play him?
"Mz P!NK said:he is?"Ok ok what about i still think that sam will do a great job as fury but if they did do a classic i'd pick mista quad"AND he's an amazing actor."
he is the guy who made that movie about a baseball player aloing time ago right?
Anyway what about Harrison Ford?
Han Solo, Indiana Jones and Nick Fury?
Fury is on his eighties, true he doesn't look that way but still....
How do you sell a war veteran without him looking really old?
Well because the Ultimate Nick Fury is afro-american and in the comics looks 100 % as Samuel L. Jackson,he's good for him, as about the original Marvel Universe in my head theres a picture of Pierce Brosnan.Sure people may laugh at this, but the guy personaly I think would' be a perfect Nick Fury.
Pierce Brosnan
He allready prove that he can play an agent very well, I don't think it may be too difficult for him to play Nick Fury, but as I heard, Samuel Jackson will play Fury in the upcoming First Avenger:Captain America and in The Avengers Movie. If they connected the Iron Man movie with the Hulk movie I don't think they gonna' give it up and replace Fury with a white one, but who knows.
"Kurt Russell or Viggo Mortensen."
I'm surprised it took 3 pages before someone got to Kurt Russell. Right age, right build, right height, right face, and a voice that would work well for the part.
"I think that Jackson will do a good job, but being the original Nick Fury fanboy that I am I would like to see a white actor acting as him (not an offense to anyone)
How about Al pacino?"
I totally agree. I always loved Fury, he was such a badass character. I don't know why they had to make him look like samuel l jackson. I personally like the Ultimate version head of S.H.I.E.L.D, I think he is a cool character, but he shouldn't be Nick Fury. Nick Fury is a white man, just like the Kingpin is a white man. Why didn't they say Fury retired/got fired, and that Gabe Jones (black shield agent for those who don't know) is now that head of shield? Maybe they will do a Heroes for Hire and Luke Cage will be played by Triple H.
Well I remember Millar (or was it Bendis?) saying that for him Nick Fury was the ultimate badass and that when they were designing him for the ultimate universe they wanted to use the face of a famous person, they decided that the only guy badass enough to be Nick Fury was Samuel L. Jackson
Well, The Hoff definitely had it down. Clint Eastwood would have been good, but Nick is kept younger now. Maybe Clint with CGI. Burt Reynolds or Charles Bronson would have been awesome, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, as mentioned, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck and Dennis Quaid would each be pretty darn good in this role. Just saying.
Much to young. Nick needs to be gritty, he needs to have some age on him. He doesn't look thirty, he looks more forty. Dennis Quad would make an awesome Fury, if he can do General Hawk he can do Fury.
Ya, but with a little make-up, like on the grey hair, he IS an actor and a VERY good one, he COMPLETELY BECOMES NICK FURY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8O
If they would make a serious spy thriller (which would not happen ever) then Thomas Jane would be perfect. As stupid as it may sound I now think he would make better Nick Fury than Punisher.
There were some pictures with Thomas Jane as Nick Fury and they were fabulous.
I threw Viggo Mortensen's name out quite some time ago along with Kurt Russell and decided to post how he looked with the eye patch. I don't have photo shop on my computer so had to do it old school.
Don't let Tom Cruise anywhere near it. And all the other guys I see mentioned above are too "nice"/mellow.
John Travolta or Ed Harris would be great (with a stunt double), and Bruce Willis would have been great some time ago, but really, it should not be a A-list star (too much character/role baggage). That's why some people had trouble seeing The Hoff as Fury, although I think he did a pretty good job. But that makes it difficult to suggest someone, because it needs to be someone we've heard of in order to be suggested.
So how about that military guy that was in Avatar? Otherwise just go get someone from casting -- It can be done, but you can't draw from currently-known actors because Original Nick Fury is/was so unique.
