Mighty Avengers #18

Nick Fury’s Secret Warriors Are Ready To Kick Some Skrull-Butt!

Okay he's not exactly taking over the team but it seems he's taking over this issue.  I'm enjoying all the flashback stories we're getting.  Seeing what people (or Skrulls) were doing before the Invasion actually started but some of them seem out of place.  Why should Nick Fury's Caterpillars, or I guess I should say his "Secret Warriors," have their story told in Mighty Avengers?  I thought this series was about the actual Avengers.  I get that their story needs to be told somewhere but why not give them a Secret Invasion one-shot or mini like everyone else is getting.  Maybe to ensure more sales?  Like I said, I am enjoying tales like this but it is a little annoying.

At least they changed their name.

The blockbuster comic book event of year continues as fans, retailers and critics agree—Secret Invasion is a smash hit! Secret Invasion has everyone asking “Who do you trust?” as the fate of the Marvel Universe lies in the hands of the shape-shifting alien race known as the Skrulls.  Join Nick Fury and his Secret Warriors as they take the fight to the Skrulls in Mighty Avengers #18!  Months ago, an underground Nick Fury saw the oncoming threat and gathered a secret team of heroes to stop the invasion all together!  Join critically acclaimed writer Brian Michael Bendis and rising star artist Stefano Caselli (Avengers: The Initiative) as they rewind back to unveil the covert training of Nick Fury’s new Secret Warriors and they learn what it takes to make a hero!  Plus, a stunning new cover from amazing artist Marko Djurdjevic!

Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Secret Invasion and all tie-in issues, as they continue to sell out quickly at Diamond!

With the Invasion at large, do Nick Fury’s Secret Warriors stand a chance?  Hopefully, being trained by the greatest secret agent in the world helps!  You don’t dare miss Mighty Avengers #18!

This post relates to: Nick Fury, Squadron Supreme, Greg Land, Howard Chaykin

I don't know if they're trying to be like the regular old Nick Fury but I'm sure you've noticed that Ultimate Nick Fury pulled a disappearing act recently.  He hasn't made an appearance (besides in the Iron Man movie) in some time.  I can't tell if this will explain where he's been or if it's a flashback tale.

Either way, Squadron Supreme returning sounds cool to me.

Squadron Supreme Returns…With Ultimate Nick Fury!

The comeback of Squadron Supreme begins with four astronauts returning to Earth from a fantastic space mission, changed in a familiar way…and Ultimate Nick Fury will learn the truth about their quest! Squadron Supreme 2 #1, a bold new ongoing series from comics legend Howard Chaykin and Chesterquest artist Marco Turini, follows the hit Ultimate Power series as the mankind struggles to rebuild! But what is the secret behind a new group of heroes who’ve appeared? And whatever happened to the Squadron Supreme?

Squadron Supreme 2 #1 exposes the secrets of the lunar mission…and the truth that Fury discovers will rock the Supreme-verse to its core!

It's about time.   The "heroes" are going to need all the help they can get.  Where the heck have you been all this time Nick?

The most dangerous man in the Marvel Universe—Nick Fury—went underground after a failed espionage mission, but now the former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D returns in Mighty Avengers #12! Why is Fury back? And what does his timing have to do with the red-hot Secret Invasion? The Eisner-winning team of writer Brian Bendis (Secret Invasion, New Avengers) and artist Alex Maleev (Daredevil, New Avengers: Illuminati) reunite for a Secret Invasion tie-in so important that the events in this issue will reverberate throughout the Marvel Universe as Fury becomes target number one! And just who is revealed as a Skrull? Wrapped up in a gorgeous cover by rising star artist Marko Djurdjevic (Thor), no Secret Invasion fan can afford to miss this crucial event tie-in!

Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Mighty Avengers and all Secret Invasion tie-ins, as the event delights critics and fans alike, while also drawing mainstream attention from outlets such as Entertainment Weekly. This post relates to: Nick Fury, Iron Man

Will Samuel L. Jackson play the role of Nick Fury in Iron Man?

Today, though, he’s shooting scenes featuring an actor who is a set-up for a larger Marvel continuity, and it’s exciting because I’m hoping this character can start showing up in other films, and we’ll start seeing Marvel Studios creating a larger world, one that exists outside the frames of the individual movies. This is a major step towards making that AVENGERS movie we’ve been hearing about. So who’s the actor? Who’s the character?

Sam Jackson. Nick Fury.
