Uncanny X-Men #511, What's Going On Here?

Review for the finale to the Sisterhood arc.

The final issue of the "Sisterhood" arc is here.

What is there to say?  I'm just really bummed that there was such a distraction during this arc.  I really can't say if anything good came from it.  At least things could get interesting when the mutants go back in time to research the birth of mutants.  Was there anything about this issue you enjoyed?

evil ART! EVIL ART!

Maybe he just need to spend more time in each drawing. Or he just needs drawing classes. Either way is fine.

Awesome fight scene dialogue. Hahaha!!! That's really sad about the art.

Poor G-Man, been on a roller coaster of late.  First the high of Batman & Robin #1 & Red Robin #1, to the low of this issue of Uncanny X-Men #511.   At least Mr. Land won't be around next ish.  Could Marvel finally be hearing the fans' discontent?

Also, are the X-Men REALLY going to travel back in time just to research the birth of mutants?  With Hank McCoy and Dr. McTaggert (at least I assume they are still around), can't they just do research via genetics?

I think G-Man is right.... he's a very good artist when it comes to covers (sometimes) but when it comes to issues with a lot of charcaters he seems to just copy and past a lot.....

I was/am (still not sure) a Greg Land Fan because I think he did a really good job in X-Men: Phoenix Endsong and the 12 issues he did for Ultimate Fanatastic Four were also good.... yeah there was some copy paste images but this seems to be an exageration!!!

I think now-a-days he's just being lazy!

I don't read Uncanny X-men but after this story arc I might!

I was a Greg Land fan too.  Maybe I was just fooled?  I don't know.  Was he good before or did I just think he was?

3 out of 5??  Can we ask for a second opinion?

I agree with the review.

You should read out more dialogue, I was laughing.  "Kill. You."

How would it rate if you did take Land's art into consideration?

I like Greg's Art.

Ha! Totally the most disgusted face I've ever seen on a human being at around 4:37. Like you ate the mashed potatoes at KFC.

But Greg Land artwork'll do that to ya. I remember the first time I really began to notice his art on the Ultimate Power book and his pencil work combined with the colors totally  looked like...Korean Pop Idol art or something.

Matt is one of my biggest heroes though, so I hope that little bump was only temporary.

Wow, I'm devoted to the X-Men for life.  But this year has been pretty cruddy and I totally agree at how CONVENIENT things turned out in the conclusion of this waste of an arc.  They could've used ANY woman to play the part of Madelyn Pryor.  Fraction kind of took a dump on that character in this story.  The next issue should definitely be something different when the X-Club goes back in time, and that goodness.  It's been a women-fest, not that I have anything about the X-women, but when they all look the same, it's a bumout.

The best thing about #511 is that Greg Land is now off doing the interior art from this point forward, unless Marvel is stupid.  I agree w/ Dazz, "hell yeah!"  Away with you, Greg Land!

I loved Dazzler's display of ability, everything else i could have done without.

My biggest problem with this issue was that they mentioned Jeans body was switched. According to Phoenix Endsong there isn't suppose to be a body am I right?

infinityandbeyondon June 14, 2009 at 12:52 a.m.
i would agree..."hell yeah"....

greg land impressed me the first time i saw his drawings but as i find out that her female look almost the same, i asked myself if he just bas on one guideline for each pose....
fans especially those who are in charge for editing character profiles will have lots of mistakes for the information that they put into the pages if they would not intelligently identify the characters.
AngelFroston June 14, 2009 at 6:57 a.m.
Geg Land does great covers, But his inside art all seem to make the females look like they're in some sort of porn movie or something. O_o

xx
