Are you ready for the movie?

The last time we heard anything about ' The Goon' movie adaptation was probably back in March when we reported on what we think it might look like in CG. After months of little to no news regarding the movie, we finally have something to look forward to! According to a recent interview, 'The Goon's creator Eric Powell announced that the script for the film adaptation has finally been completed. Director David Finch will be heavily involved in the film which will be produced for Blur Studios.

"I just finished writing the script a few months back, and Blur is working on a lot of test stuff...Fincher is working on a film right now, so we're waiting for him to get some space so we can start showing some of this stuff off. I'm pretty happy with everything so far. We've just got to work to get to the next point. This is a slow, long process."

The fact that it is slow going, might mean that it will get done right! Additionally, it is likely that the film will be animated rather than live -action, which is what Powell has said he prefers.

"I always felt that the material would work better animated, just because of the bizarre nature of the characters and the atmosphere of the stories."

Are you excited to hear that the script for 'The Goon' has been completed? Did you read the comics?

Is that Tommy from the Rugrats cartoon? Never grew any hair in the end, what a shame.

The Goon is the one Dark Horse property I've yet to pick up.  I know the character has a cult following.  Wonder if it will be straight to DVD or in theatres?

The Goon is the only comic from DH I read, besides some of their manga (Berserk, Blade of the Immortal, and Hellsing). It can go from very funny to very dark without a misstep in between. Can't wait to see this.

I feel like such a dork. When I  first saw this. I was thinking of the movie The Goonies. I hadn't even heard of the comic before this.

The fact that this is going in the more computer animated direction, and it has the series creator behind it for the writing. Those two points alone put it head and shoulders above any of the utter garbage they produce for anime inspired movies.

This is great news but I would prefer a live -action movie witch tell's the Goon's origin .
