With the recent announcement of the Green Lantern: First Flight animated movie, I think most of us got pretty excited.  That movie won't be released until July.  Ain't It Cool News got the scoop and just announced that they know what is coming after that.  Hopefully we'll see it this year as well.

How about that?  Bruce Timm is the Executive Producer again.  They also posted the synopsis:
United States President Lex Luthor uses the oncoming trajectory of a kryptonite asteroid to frame Superman and declare a $1 billion bounty on the heads of the Man of Steel and his “partner in crime” Batman.  Super heroes and super villains alike launch a relentless pursuit of Superman and Batman, who must unite – and recruit super help – to stave off the action-packed onslaught, stop the asteroid, and uncover Luthor’s devious plot to take command of far more than North America.

Sounds cool to me.

OH YES

We can't go wrong with Bruce Timm. I've got to say, when WB/DC nabbed him they got super duper lucky. The man is a genius. Looking forward to this!

They already made a Superman/Batman movie. I own it!

Still, this sounds kind of wicked. DC animated movies haven't really let me down, so I have nothing to fear.

YES!!
That sound like it's from the pages of Superman/Batman!
In that plot they present Hiro Okamura! The Captain Atom made a team to bring them both down. And we see a fight between Captain Marvel and Hawkman verus Superman and Batman! Awsome!

that was just episodes of the superman and batman animated series where they had a crossover and they made them into a "movie"

I don't think so. In the original Batman Animated Series, I don't think they ever had a crossover, though they might've.

Damn, you're right. I checked the episode list on wiki and the plot description is nearly identical.

It seems you win this one, Dan. But the war.....is far from over.

I wonder what style of animation they'll go for.  As much as I like the "traditional" DC animated look, I'm glad they've steered away from that with these recent releases.  Something fresh.

No Flash? boo

G-Man

Not sure why Flash would be in a Superman/Batman movie...

Cool sounding idea, AND Bruce Timm backing the project? Works for me!
