Supergirl Returns to Smallville for Final Five Episodes

Where has the girl of steel been?

Supergirl fans rejoice! Laura Vandervoort will be returning to Smallville for the final five episodes. This isn't exactly new news as it was reported back in September that she'd be returning but now we have confirmation.

A rep of the show confirmed to TV Line that she'd be back following TVGuide.com's earlier announcement that Calum Blue will return as Zod for one of the final five episodes. (Still no confirmation whether or not Michael Rosenbaum will return as Lex Luthor).

I have to admit that I am behind on the show. I'm finishing up shows from last season (there's just too many comics to read each week). When it was reported earlier, it was mentioned that Kara would be back to help Clark get a handle on his secret identity bit. With the show nearing its end, what would make a good final episode? The line between the comics and show have clearly been drawn seasons ago. If Clark is to become Superman, there are things he needs to learn and do before that can happen.

What are your thoughts on Supergirl's return? What do you think her appearance will mean for the final episodes?

It seems their pulling out all the stops for the final season. I bet she'll finally teach Clark to fly.

I'm kinda thinking her death will be what gets Clark to come out of the shadows, put on the tights and really become Superman.

I wonder why G-man hasn't posted the casting for Booster Gold, and both Blue Beetle's yet?
Baddamdogon Jan. 30, 2011 at 8:07 a.m.
Woo, she already returned for an episode this season and taught Clark how to fly but it's good that she will be back

OMG I love this. This is going to be great can't wait to see what the smallville writers are going to come up with. Love Supergirl and Laura Vandervoort.

As much as I think that Laura Vandervoortdoes a terrific job at portraying Supergirl, I'll keep my expectation very low. So far the character handling within the stories has been very so-so.

i hope kara becomes supergirl when clark suits up iam so happy shes back for 5 episodes yay.

Kara's appearance would definitely mean that she will help Clark to fly and fight his own darkness. So that Clark can defeat Darkseid and become Superman.

I thought her appearance in the beginning of the season was it, but this is great news!
I just wish Chloe would appear for those ending episodes!

First off: Yay, Supergirl's awesome. Glad to see her coming back.

Secondly: I'm still waiting on Booster Gold and Blue Beetle before I get excited.

Dig Deeper into Supergirl

Among the many incarnations of Supergirl, the most prominent as well as current is the "Girl of Steel" Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin and last survivor of Krypton's Argo City. In the new 52, Supergirl seems to have a more ruthless personality to help cope with her losses.
