Punisher: Frank Castle Max #75, Exclusive Extended Preview

Take an extended look at what is said to change the way you look at the Punisher.

Punisher: Frank Castle Max is about to reach its 75th issue.  To help celebrate this, Marvel has sent us an exclusive extended preview.  As you know, the Max title is not the same as the regular Punisher titles.  Things get a little grittier here.  The book is on sale October 14, 2009.  It will contain five stories.  Here's a look at two pages from each story.

PUNISHER: FRANK CASTLE MAX #75
Written by GREGG HURWITZ, CHARLIE HUSTON, PETER MILLIGAN,
THOMAS PICCIRILLI & TBD
Penciled by LAURENCE CAMPELL, TOMM COKER, KEN LASHLEY, DAS PASTORAS & TBD
Cover by DAVE JOHNSON

Special double-sized 75th issue!  Several years ago, under a cloudless day in New York’s Central Park, Frank Castle’s family was slaughtered in a mob crossfire.  On that day, the man known as Frank Castle died and in his place was born the Punisher, a relentless engine of vengeance.  Five stories take an unflinching look at what really happened that day, providing a penetrating look into the mass of hard muscle that once was Frank Castle’s heart.  You won’t look at the Punisher the same way again.  Featuring Charlie Huston and Ken Lashley’s “Smallest Bit of This”…Peter Milligan and Tomm Coker’s “Father’s Day”…“Gregg Hurwitz and Das Pastoras’ “Gateway”…Thomas Piccirilli and Laurence Cambpell’s “Dolls”…and “TBD”

Also featuring an 8-page preview of Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon’s upcoming PUNISHERMAX #1, “The Kingpin.”

I'm not a fan of this art...

Punisher MAX: Flawless. Even though Ennis' AMAZING run finished a couple of years ago, the bunch of crime writers they've brought to work on good old Frankie's adventures' been great.

Better then the other Punisher and TwilightThunder gave us the reason why, Crime writers.

I'm sorry am I tripping or did the art style change 3 times in this preview? whomever is the guy doing all of the great perspective work then he should have the job, it's a simple art style yet complex like Tim Sale's work

I may have missed that somewhere above... still I think they should've just had one guy do all of the work. It's the biggest turn off to me for any comic book to have pencils and inks done by more than one artist, granted this will have different stories in the same namesake... It's like when LeSean Thomas was the only reason I read Arkanum only to see they switched artists on the last issue of the book before they canned it so he could do Ninja Turtles...

the Punisher Max series is one of my favorites due to the grittiness and the crime writing style and the fact that there are no overly done tie ins. Straight forward.  Im excited to read this:

See I was worried when Ennis was gonna finish up on Castle that he was gonna be written like sh@$ ; like he is on the regular Marvel Punisher books. But getting these crime writers was a wise move , cause they seem to understand Castle & write him well like Ennis did.

Cool art. Even though it's totally different, its kinda refreshing.
