We know that Nicolas Cage is gung ho about returning to his Ghost Rider role.  We've been hearing rumblings about the sequel for a little while now.  We know the movie will be based on David Goyer's sequel script and that the movie may be set ten years after the first.

Cage recently spoke with MTV and he joked that there's more likely more information on the internet compared to what he knows about it.  If the movie will be set ten years later, will his character have a place in it?

“Yeah, well I don’t really know how to answer that,” Cage said when I asked if he was still attached. “Because I don’t have all the details.”

There's always the chance that a sequel could focus on Dan Ketch rather than Johnny Blaze.  The first movie seemed to get mixed reviews with more of them leaning towards 'not liking it.'  Was the problem with the character portrayal of Johnny Blaze or were there other factors?  Could bringing in a new cast and setting be the answer?  Would you rather see the movie focus on Blaze or Ketch?

My mom is the one who recommended I see ghost rider... She thought it was fun and awesome and also loves nick cage. I think having him do your movies makes it more accessible to older and middle aged women. I went to see it and thought it was pretty cool, but I think the concept of ghost rider is awesome anyway so my opinion could be Biased.

The chains, and the bike were awesome... the stare of death was kind of lame... I mean they could put some hot actor in the movie and it would draw younger women to watch the movie but it may stray men away from watching the movie because quite frankly I'm sick of seeing some TEEN IDOL in all of my films.

I got nothing but love for Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds (no homo) but seriously you guys can't be in every flippin marvel movie.

Thomas Jane should of played Blaze with someone like Johnny Depp as Ketch for a sequel. Depp would never play the  suppoting character hence why he would become the main focus of the movie and Jane would become more of the supporting character, toting the Hellfire Shotgun and the such. Oh and Blackheart and his band of demons looked like a bunch of Twitards. Yeah sorry, I just really don't care for Nick Cage or that piece of spit Ghost Rider movie. It should just be revamped.

Given the choice, I would see another National Treasure movie than Nic Cage as Ghost Rider. Sometimes good people make bad movies... And, then take all the money they made and go on a buying frenzy...

If they do another Ghost Rider they need to make it a bit more exciting and have a higher rating. I'd like to see it focus on Dan Ketch too, maybe Jennifer Kale. Go a bit more mystic.

To me, Blaze is a better Ghost Rider than Ketch. I thought Nicholas Cage was a good Blaze. Perhaps it was because of Mephisto and Blackheart. They didn't have their cool demon looks like in the comics. Sure, when Blackheart gets possessed in the end, he looks a little bit like his demon self, but not enough in my view. Maybe, Zarathos could be in the sequel.

Again, I'm in the minority, I liked Ghost Rider.   Nic Cage, well, I thought the casting was off, way off.  I accepted him as Blaze, but honestly, if a sequel happens,  I hope they go with a different actor.  For me, that was one of the negative points, having Cage portray Blaze, otherwise I liked the movie.

Regarding Danny Ketch, never got into the character its always been Johnny Blaze for me but I'd still be open to have a different person take on the Ghost Rider persona and a different actor to fill that role.

I liked Ghost Rider too but I think they should go with Ketch. His story is interesting, and I would love to see the Midnight Sons.

It should have been more close to the comic's.

I had no problem with Cage being Blaze cause he kind of looked like him. The problem is that he wasn't really playing Blaze it was just Cage being Cage same when Clooney played Batman. Clooney wasn't being Batman he was just being himself and not being dark like Cage was. I dig jelly beans and all but they should've had had Blaze being a drinker like in the books. I wasn't to thrilled that they pretty gave all of Ketch's powers to Blaze. So for me personally I want Ketch because he was just better. He was more powerful, had a cooler looking bike, and more villains. And if they bring back Blackheart do his a$$ right please. And maybe introduce  Michael Badilino aka Vengence. But if Cage is gonna be back change it up dude. Get a little grittier I know you can man. Like I'm talking about 8mm gritty as far as the way he should act in the next one.

Hm ...

Nicholas Cage is a legend, and a brilliant actor.
But I always saw Johnny Blaze as being younger and so that kinda put me off the movie a little. :/  I just didn't think he completely fit the role.

How about NOT choosing an actor who could break a hip doing some of the stunts? AND avoiding bad hair-pieces/dye jobs?

Just a suggestion...

It just seemed like Nic Cage detracted from the portrayal of John Blaze with useless sub-plots like the stuff with the candy and listening to songs. Blaze has a cowboy attitude that Cage made a good attempt at portraying in the movie. I liked the actual presentation of Ghost Rider.

It was awesome when GR drove his bike off the roof of a skyscraper then used his chain to ride it down the side of the building. Matter of act, I mostly enjoyed the Ghost Rider sequences. A reboot or a sequel with a different cast might be a good idea.

I am hoping they would make another one since GR is my favorite comic book hero, and I'm also hoping it would be better this time.

The age of Nicolas Cage seems to put me off a bit, but I feel like if in the second movie they portray a slightly older Blaze (Which is closer to Nicolas Cage's age and his hair) and introduce Dan Ketch that'd be cool. I mean, Marvel keeps their movies as close to the main universe as possible, and I know people would complain if they change things slightly to fit the movie. But I'd rather see Nicolas Cage again then them changing actors, cause I think fanboys hate that the most.
