NBC Picks Up Wonder Woman TV Show

Friday nights seem to be the time and day for the Wonder Woman news. It was recently announced that David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman project wasn't going to happen due to cost and a lack of interest from networks. We even had a video discussion on this week.

Good news for those craving some Wonder Woman TV action, it appears the project is going to happen. It was just announced that NBC has decided to give the show a shot. What direction will the show take? According to Deadline Hollywood:

The project is described as a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman -- aka Diana Prince -- is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

Vigilante crime fighter in L.A.? Hopefully that just means she'll be fighting crime without any official capacity of the LAPD. Sure Wonder Woman has sometimes been portrayed as a fierce Amazon but I'd hate to see her taking an extreme Punisher/vigilante route. Then again, that could be an interesting twist. As for the successful corporate executive angle...that concerns me a bit. Let's keep our fingers crossed and perhaps we could start thinking about who should be cast. Do you think she'll have her original/traditional outfit or the new/current one?

I've tried. I've really tried to give a damn about WW but I just don't. I'd even love to say that I'll try out the first episode but I can't see myself being so bored that I'd succumb to even that.

I wonder if The Cape is already on its way out and they're looking to fill the spot with something similar to capture the same type of audience but with a better character (and hopefully a much much better show too).

NBC better set down a mission statement and shell out good money for writers I don't want it to get the Heroes treatment and don't treat it like some Ally Mcbeal hot and heavy will he won't she sexcapades found in business women sitcoms I mean honestly sit down and watch the material if not mark my words as soon as they cancel it solo women heroes will cling to syfy for dear life!
