I don't know anything about American Dream.  I read Spider-Girl but never read any of that A-Next or MC2 stuff.  I meant to pick this up out of curiosity but forgot. 

Here's a preview for #2.

Excitement is building around Shannon Carter’s new adventure as American Dream #1 (of 5) sells out at Diamond! In this new series, written by Tom DeFalco and art by Todd Nauck, we follow Shannon as she struggles to find a balance between her personal and superhero lives.
