LBCC '09: Stan Lee Interview and iPod Contest!

Comic Vine sits down with the most important man in comics

Comic Vine sits down with the most influential man in comics

It is not easy to sit across from a man of such power and influence and not be nervous. Interviewing Stan Lee, the man behind so many characters that we know and love was truly an honor for me as a journalist as well as a fan. Mr. Lee is responsible for changing the face of the entire industry, and not only has he been incredibly influential in the evolution of comic books; but he is also a pioneer and icon of American pop-culture. Stan Lee is responsible for creating so many incredible comic book characters, and the face of the industry would not be the same without his work.

Contest: Win autographed Stan Lee iPod!

While we were at the show, we were able to get Stan to autograph an iPod for us to give away to a lucky Comic Vine user. We all know the obvious reasons as to why Stan Lee was so important and influential; but have you ever wondered what the industry would be like without him? In your opinion, (aside from the obvious reasons) what has Stan Lee done for the comics industry? Tell us in your own words why you feel his influence was important in either three paragraphs (5 sentences per paragraph) or in a video blog post (no less than 2 minutes, no more than 5).
I look forward to seeing all of the entries, good luck!

  • All entries will be judged by a Whiskey Media panel based on creativity.
  • Contest ends Tuesday, October 13th 12 AM Pacific Time.
  • Please post your entry in your blog and post a link to your entry in this thread

Stan Lee is like the Jesus of comics.

However... a douchebag of an intstructor I have said he's  "overrated"... in case anyone heard a guy said that and glared at him at the convention... that's him. Yeah, I hate him for saying that too...

Stan Lee is the legendary co-creator of such timeless characters as the Avengers, the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the Hulk, and he made Marvel what it is today. For many people, he still is Marvel Comics incarnated.
