Kill Audio #1 REVIEWED

G-Man looks at the first strange issue.

I'm always saying that you should try something different.  Kill Audio...this is one of those 'different' comics.   It deals with a character named, Kill Audio.  It turns out that he's immortal.  There is also a guy named Fix-Ler that is determined to kill him.  It's actually this Fix-Ler character that puts the idea into Kill Audio's head that there must be some higher purpose to his existence.

Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert have given us a strange new world.  I can't even begin to describe the world.  We're only seeing glimpses of it but we can see that there is more to it than there appears to be.  The art by Mr. Sheldon fits this strange tale perfectly.  The colors mainly consist of muted colors with splashes of red thrown in.  Throw in all the bizarre characters and you have a very interesting comic.

While the comic was fun throughout, it wasn't until the end that we see there could be more than just a 'comic trying to be different.'  I think the next issue could determine the direction of this book.  So far I'm liking what I've seen.  Before I fully commit to the series, I'll have to see where it's going to go.  But if this first issue is any indication, I think this could be a fun series.

This is one of those ''different'' comics that actually interests me.

My LCS guy slipped this into my buy pile since he knows I'm pretty much willing to give anything a chance.

This has got to be one of the most bizaarly entertaining comics I've read in quite a while, half the time I thought I needed a strong dose of psychotropic substances to enjoy this properly though.

The art is really good, everything just jumps off the pages at you, I'm pretty sure it would do so quite literally with said substances.

There were some really funny parts to this book and others that I just kind of rolled my eyes at, Chicken Coke Daddy is a riot though, especially when you get to see things through his eyes, in most cases though the humor hits allot more than it misses.

I wasn't surprised too much by the ending given who the author of the book is, Claudio Sanchez is lead singer and guitarist for Coheed and Cambria.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next issue though, this looks like it's going to be one trippy hilarious journey.

If you're looking for different this book may very well be the definition of that.
