It's obvious that we all like comics here.  Have you tried Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited?  You've probably had a taste if you checked out the "Free Monday" comics that I've linked to HERE.   Now Marvel is teaming up with Hasbro to bring an exclusive Nick Fury action figure if you sign up or renew your subscription.
“Hasbro is very excited to be teaming up with Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited for this exclusive giveaway,” said Billy Lagor, Senior Director of Hasbro’s Global Brand Strategy & Marketing, Marvel.   “We truly value and appreciate the connection that we have with our Marvel fans and hope that shows in our action figures.”

For more information on how to add Nick Fury to your collection, click over to www.marvel.com/nickfury.

It's a cool idea but I would get it if it was up to date

I'm subscribed, and I would say that if you want to read some back issues from years ago, it's great. But if you want to actually use that in lue of going to the shop or subscribing, then you're not going to get anywhere. It's more of an archive. I think that it's worth it, because it has a lot of great comics and if you think about it, I think it's only 5 bucks a month. That means that if you use it a lot, then you're saving a lot of money. There's also this cool feature where they have highlights for certain writers or artists or character, so you can read all their stuff. So if you're a collector guy, you might not want to, but if you are just a guy like me who want s to read the stuff, then this is for you.
I mean, it's a good marketing ploy. For instance, I read all of the MK Daredevil stuff, and I loved it, especially Bendis's run which was amazing. But just after Brubaker's first issue, it started getting choppy and skipping issues. So then I had to go out and buy the volumes of his stuff, and now I'm hooked. It's a very good idea on Marvel's part, and this is why Marvel transitioning to the digital age first is going to give them an enormous edge over DC.

@Anderson: Agent of SMITH:

How far back do their archives go? Can I read late 70's Uncanny X-Men issues or is it limited to the past 5 years or so?

I subscribe to it (since Feb 2008) and I'm big fan of it.  I think it is great. I believe that there's about 700 issues now, with 25-30 being added each week.  True, can't take them with you to read (unless you have a laptop), but you really can't beat the price $5 for 150 comics/month (on top of the hundreds already up).  At $3.99 an issue, I can't buy much.

@logan48227:  The oldest issue is Marvel Comics #1 (1939) and the newest is War Of Kings #1(?) (3/2009), not counting the issues that are 1st Marvel Digital exclusives.  As far as Uncanny X-Men, the following issues are up...
#1-146, 151-153, 167, 168, 172, 173, 182, 183, 189, 201, 205, 211, 213, 215, 218, 239, 244, 248, 256-258, 268-270, 273-277, 294, 309, 334, 335, 366, 367, 376, 378, 388-393, 416-479, 487-492, 495-498, 501 & Ann. 3, 9-12.

They have pretty much every series with the frequency of issues in a row increasing the farther you go back and how popular the series is. Like they have Fantasitc Four, X-Men, Spider-man, Avengers, etc. going all the way back to issue one, but the closer you get to the preset, the more likely it is that you will be skipping issues. But if you want to the entire X-Men, or just from a ceratin decade, then this is a good idea, as opposed to buying the Essentials or TPBs.
