Diana has tossed away her bracelets and lasso.  She has renounced her Amazonian heritage. In addition, Ares is back and has a bone to pick with her. To top it all off, she's now in considered a criminal by her own people.
DC's The Source released these images, along with a re-release of the solicit,  this morning highlighting next week's issue of Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman’s world is turned upside-down as she finds herself branded a criminal by her own people. And who are the Crows, and what awful secret do they carry that will affect Diana forever? I can’t reveal it all here, of course, but I can show off a few pages from  WONDER WOMAN #38, courtesy of Gail Simone and artist Aaron Lopresti, which hits 11/25.

Gail Simone and Aaron Lopresti have both been working together on this volume for over a year now. You may know Lopresti's work from earlier issues of the current Ms. Marvel run, and Gail Simone from DC's Secret Six. And although this is midway through a current storyline, Diana is on the verge of being executed. Will this happen? Will she ever gain the acceptance of her people again?

I'm seeing a lot of the suspenseful questions at the end of articles and reports lately . . . You guys need to get a cartoon mascot that looks like an old anchor man and put those campy questions in a word balloon to alude to the notion that you're not taking this too seriously.

The only thing she's guilty of is defying the laws of gravity, but that includes just about 99% of all comic book women.

I must say that Gail Simone and Aaron Lopresti are running one of my favorite all time story lines ever. My wife got me a Wonder Woman subscription for my birthday through Barnes and Noble and it doesn't come to my house till 3 weeks after the issue has hit the stores. It is soooo hard to wait to see what happens next during those three weeks when I know I could go but it. If this comes out in a Varient Cover I might just have to go get it and have two.

Gail Simone has made this and Secret Six two of my favorite books. She is a fantastic writer.

Nice to see someone else showing Wonder Woman some love. But just to clear a couple points up, she didn't "toss" her bracelets and lasso away, she was forced to surrender them. And she really has not renounced her heritage, just Zeus and his new decree that the Amazons are no longer the protectors of Themiscyra, Achilles and his army (98% male) are. Her people have not forsaken her but since they were forced to surrender their weapons and with Alkyone as Achilles new queen, they are pretty much helpless to do anything. Add in the fact that Wonder Woman's mother is also a prisoner and is  being used as leverage, it seems the Amazon's options are limited. Wonder Woman is one of the few comics I am still currently reading and I think its amazing so far. I think Wonder Woman is easily the most well known character that nobody actually reads lol. Cant wait for issue #38, nice little post Ego.

@Gambler: Yeah, I kind of flubbed the synopsis, which I based off of my quick flip-through off the book. But, she did toss her lasso away in the last issue, I do that that.

@inferiorego: Yeah but technically she only did that in an attempt to show Donna Troy that she wasn't her enemy. The lasso was killing her. I'm glad to see you taking an interest of sorts in WW.

She could easily bust out of that jail...

@Media_Master: Yeah, not only does she have Artemis willing to help her, but her abilities alone would allow her to. But she wont cause they have her mother.

I've enjoyed the recent run of Wonder Woman actually, only picked it up a few issues back. In JLA she seems so tough, it's nice to read a story where she seems a bit more vulnerable and human.

I'm a big Gail Simone fan (well, Secret Six that is), and WW is one of the few DC characters that I've never really read up on. I felt it was time to dive in to one of DC's biggest heroes.

All super heroes are criminals in some way. Some law they are breaking always

Batman: Endangering children, vigilantism, he is a threat our national security (Super computer, jets, weapons, etc.) Because he doesn't kill Joker and his villain even more people are dying trying to provoke him. ETC!

Wolverine: Carrying illegal weapons

Wonder Woman: Threatening the national security, murder, etc.

But you know who cares :P

@Son_of_Magnus:
Gail Simone did write for an animate short called Pre-teen Raider. It was a short film about a very young Lara Croft. I think you can still find it on youtube. It was pretty entertaining. It could of made a good animated series.
