Hayley Attwell Up To Be Captain America's Girlfriend

Just who IS she? And what happened to Alice Eve and Keira Knightly?

Does she look like Peggy Carter to you?
Does she look like Peggy Carter to you?

There are less candidates in the mix, to be sure, but the casting race to play Peggy Carter in the CAPTAIN AMERICA movie is proving to have almost as many switchback turns as the race to play Cap, himself.  Last week, we let you know that, Emily Blunt turned an offer from Marvel for the role and, instead, might be considering a role in BATMAN 3. Her departure left fellow British actresses Keira Knightley (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN) and Alice Eve (SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE) in the running. The latest news states that Knightley has dropped out, too, while another actress from across the pond has entered to compete with Eve.

That actress is Hayley Atwell, whose biggest roles have been in THE DUCHESS and spots on the recent PRISONER remake mini-series and DR. WHO. She and Eve will both be doing a second screentest for the role in London tomorrow (according to Geek Tyrant). I haven’t seen either of these actresses at work, so I really can’t vouch on either’s behalf. Supposedly, Marvel’s decision will actually be informed by fan response they observe on sites like this, so the POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS! Who do you want… Eve or Atwell? It’s an election you don’t have to fill out form for nor hide inside any curtained booth to vote in.

Alice Eve has my Vote!

no wait!

hayley Atwell!

NO! wait...damn i have no idea ha ha

they are both gorgeous women but I have never seen either of them act, so its very hard to choose one over the other without basing it entirely on looks. I'm just happy keira knightly is out, she would have bugged me.

I don't care if it's Hayley Atwell, Jennifer Connely, Olivia Munn, a Skrull, or even if it's Ryan Reynolds, but I have to be in the Avengers movie!

I don't care who plays Peggy Carter, but whichever British chick loses out on the role should play Jessica Drew with her cool English accent (just like in the motion comics) in the upcoming Avengers movie!

My vote is for Hayley Atwell.

Though i could see Alice Eve being Marvels easy pick.

Alice Eve has my vote although I prefer her to play Sharon Carter.

Hayley Atwell, she's the best choice I could see having. She's not that big so the pay won't be big, plus she's quite hot.

Alice Eve.

Why are they so desperate to have a British actress play her?
I'm not complaining, (I'm British) but it's weird.

I guess they just want to actract an English viewership, since the movie is 'Captain America'

I'd go with Alice Eve - I think she has more of a 'classic' look to her. (:

They're already intending this movie to be an AntiAmerican BOMB.

A crime.

When America does to them what must be finished, I wonder what side Disney will be on, or if they will even be operating out of America.

It would be best that they don't make a mistake like this thing.

A world of no! >_<
