Good News For Bond Fans

Daniel Craig speaks a little about the future of Bond.

James Bond has managed to be cool for some time now.  When Daniel Craig took over the role, it gave us a new take on the character.  Nothing against the previous actors but Craig has shown us the physical side of Bond and that he can operate without relying on tons of gadgets.  It's always a bummer when you get attached to a Bond actor and then find out they're done with the role for whatever reason.  We've had two movies with Craig now.  I know some didn't like the lack of gadgets in "Quantum of Solace" but I still enjoyed the movie.

What is the good news for Bond?  Daniel Craig has said he would like to be James Bond for as long as he is able.
If people want to see these movies I’ll keep doing them for as long as it takes - or until my knees go.

Someone get some special 007 knee braces ready, just in case.  When I first heard that Daniel Craig was playing Bond, I wasn't too sure what to think.  After seeing him twice, I'm all for having him around as long as possible.

Are you happy with this news?  Do you want to see Craig continue as Bond?  Would you rather see a new actor?  Who has been your favorite Bond so far?

Awesome, I'm not the only one who thought Craig did a good job. Everyone I talk to about it is all "Well, he's not as good as Pierce Brosnan" or whatever.

I love Craig's Bond and I'm bloody happy he's not giving it up yet. Take that you damned naysayers

I was a big Bronsan fan as well.  As much as I liked him, it didn't seem enough to compel me to always make it to the theater to watch.  Usually I'd catch it on DVD.  I was bummed when he decided to move on and wasn't sure how Craig would do.  But he has been great.

Woohoo!

After years of disappointmant courtesy of Pierce Brosnan, I've been really happy with the last few Bond flicks. Good to see he'll be in more.

I would have liked it more if he said he'd keep going until "the bitch is dead".

I love Daniel Craig as Bond.  The others were good for their times, and so I think he is just right for now.  So this is very good news indeed :)

I grew up with with roger moore so to me hes bond but I liked Pierce doltan was not fun and now Graig is very good. He a more real bond than the others so I  really like him. Not that pierce was not great but to me his movies were just fun not really real.

I think this is very good news

I think Craig makes a great Bond, and while I think this is good news, I also believe that there could be other, and possibly better Bonds out there. I firmly believe that many earlier Bond films need to be watched with an understanding of what was possible when they were filmed. Who knows how Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, or even Pierce Brosnan (I know I'm forgetting at least one) would have looked like with the level of "movie magic" that is available today? So, while I do like Daniel Craig as Bond, I don't think we should rule out the possibility of someone better coming along. I know I'll enjoy any new Bond film he's in, but I wont be disappointed if they pick someone else. In fact, if there has ever been anyone who may have led me to believing a little change can be good, it might have been the so called "Blond-Bond" himself.

I think Craig has done a great job. I tried to watch the Brosnan Bond and never got into it but Craig's Bond is Spectacular I love that he can fight without gadgets like G-man said it's a great new take on Bond.

Soft spot for Pierce Brosnan-Goldeneye and Sean Conere, Daniel is great !

Each Bond was a reflection of the times.

I haven't met a Bond I didn't like.

Craig is good, real good. I just hope the next movie will be better than QoS.
Methoson May 4, 2009 at 3:29 p.m.
i'd rather see a new actor play Bond...

i seriously hate Daniel Craig's version of Bond... if i wanted to watch a movie with no sex, no gadgets, no smoking and serious storylines, then i'd watch the Bourne movies...

Bond is not Bourne... get it straight people... Bond is about 3 things, Gadgets, Girls and Explosions

I also like Daniel Craig as Bond.  Casino Royale was kick-ass, action from the start to end.  It was grittier, with just the right touch of tongue in cheek humor.  While Brosnan was a good choice, his movies--and this is the writing--were far more fluff and over the top.  Still enjoyable, but I do like Craig's take.  I still need to see Q.O.S.--the blasted DVD I rented was f*'ed up, so it's not like I haven't tried!  Even though I haven't seen Q.O.S., let's hope he's around for at least two more Bond movies--more would be great.  Oh--and more babes--gots to have da wimmins!

I don't know why, but I never be a fan of Jimmy Bond. But Craig change that, I always thought that Jimmy B is lame cuz the lack of adrenaline pumping action from the previous film. But Craig, wow, full throtle.

Maybe cuz I expecting a spy to be hard, cool like Solid snake, or  S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent. Maybe just like Methos said, I better watch Bourne movie, but Hell, This Jimmy B kick ass!!

Sean Connery is the actor who's defined Bond, but Pierce Brosnan has give him some "end-of-century" credibility, Daniel Craig has done surprinsingly well in Casino Royal, I still have yet to see Quantu of Solace. (Sorry for the martyrdon of the english... I'm not fluent and in a hurry ! :-))

The Psyentiston May 5, 2009 at 9:59 a.m.
I pretty much like all the Bonds. But I agree with xerox kitty, Craig is good for right now. Really enjoyed Craig as Bond, although like Methos said, I LOVE the Bourne movies...so maybe that's why.
