Get Ready for Batmen in November

Guess who called it back in April?

You might recall back in April I wrote an Off My Mind entitled, "When Bruce Wayne Returns, Why Not Have Two Batmans?" Guess what? The New York Post has confirmed my idea and one that people have been speculating on since the November solicits came out. DC Publisher Dan DiDio said:

"Bruce Wayne realizes that he can't just be the grim avenger he was before," DiDio said. "He wants to be more aggressive in his reach, and realizes the change that Batman as a symbol can effect around the world."

Again, I have to say, this makes perfect sense. As you may have figured out from those solicits and images we've seen, Dick Grayson's costume will have the black logo while Bruce's will have the yellow symbol.

I wonder how long it will be until the villains catch on that there's more than one? Will the two ever appear together at the same time? That'd really freak out the bad guys.

Won't that be a bit confusing? Who knows what kind of mind f@!k Morrison could achieve with two Batmen running around!!

I don't like the idea of two Batmans. I'm not a big fan of people sharing identities.
ComicMan24on Aug. 30, 2010 at 9:21 a.m.
So Grayson definitely isn't the White Knight. Good thing he isn't about to die. Interesting news.

So is it Batmen or Batmans?

A new debate for the ages.
frsty13on Aug. 30, 2010 at 9:24 a.m.
One step closer to BatmanBatmanBatman.
Jordanstineon Aug. 30, 2010 at 9:24 a.m.
Two Batmans feels like Marvel's current version of having two Captain America's (Steve and Bucky) storyline earlier this year.

PLOT

So one iconic hero supposedly "dies".

Then his side-kick decides to take up the hero's mantle.

When hero returns, he decided to fight along side his side-kick who has his mantle, basically making that there will be 2 of the same heroes now.

Hmm... I feel like I have read this before, just like a year ago.

Makes sense. I wonder how long it will last though...

@Baddamdog: They have different costumes and Bruce will only be Batman Inc. and Batman: The Dark Knight so I don't think it will be that confusing.

Let the killing (ass kicking) begin. Curious to see how this whole thing is gonna unfold.

Prehaps Bruce might go on to form the Secret Justice league...

I don't think they said Bruce will only be in Batman Inc & The Dark Knight, but just he will be taking center stage in those books.  But I do agree that it shouldn't be too confusing.

there will probably be even more than 2...the whole idea of Batman Inc. is that Bruce is going to franchise the Batman name and have Batmen all over the world

Exactly.

Two Batmen feels like a borrowed idea from two Captain America's

It doesn't help that both storylines were practically similar with the whole "Death and Re-birth" theme.  Now they're going to be 2 of each heroes too. Sheesh...

C'mon DC

Really?

its just ridicoulous......whats next the batman corp

ArachKnighton Aug. 30, 2010 at 9:33 a.m.

Is one Batman Book going to cover one Bruce/Batman and another one the Dick/Batman or will all the batman books cover both?

Duo_forbiddenon Aug. 30, 2010 at 9:35 a.m.
I too am not so fond of this idea. I kind of want Dick to be Nightwing again. I'll just have to wait to see how it turns out.

Hell yeah it would and it would be pretty freaking cool if you ask me

@Lombaszko:   @ArachKnight:
"Starting in November, DETECTIVE COMICS, BATMAN and BATMAN AND ROBIN will feature the ongoing adventures of Dick Grayson as Batman, with Damian as Robin. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne will take center stage in the pages of Grant Morrison and Yanick Paquette’s BATMAN INC. and writer/artist David Finch’s BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT."

Well at least one of the batmen will not have a silly yellow circle around the bat symbol, I wish we would see nightwing again but oh well, Wait a minute does that mean one batman will get Damian and the other batman will get TIM as their sidekick
johnny_spam is online on Aug. 30, 2010 at 9:41 a.m.
@Jordanstine: Look neither stories are copying eachother and I think people suspected this for a long time now many since this image first came out. I suspected it a year ago when I reread Batman 666 and saw Damian with two Batmen in a comic published in 2007.

They already revealed it.
They already revealed it.

Dig Deeper into Batman

After witnessing the brutal murder of his parents, Bruce Wayne dedicated his life to ridding Gotham City of crime. Years of intense physical and mental training, and a vast family fortune, helped him become a symbol that strikes fear into the hearts of criminals. He is Batman: The Dark Knight.
