Have you been keeping up with the Justice Society of America books, lately? If not, you may want to pick them up solely for the fact that incredible writer Bill Willingham is writing the book, with gorgeous art work of Matthew Sturges. Check out the preview covers to January's 'JSA ALL-STARS #2' and 'Justice Society of America' #35 courtesy of DC. Are you looking forward Freddie E. Williams II and Jesus Merino's JSA ALL STARS #2? Which cover is your favorite?

 Matthew Sturges doing art? Did I miss something? He's a writer isn't he? He co-writes Jack of Fables with Willingham and writes House of Mystery and wrote that one Final Crisis Aftermath book...now maybe all writers are artists on the side but it doesn't really sound appealing to me when a writer is credited as an artist, I've seen Neil Gaiman's sketches in Roxy's gallery :P

But Willingham is a great writer and the JSA has always interested me (at least a little) so I might have to pick up these upcoming issues

Magog has got to be one of THE worst characters ever created. He was a nothing, bit player in Kingdom Come. Sorry to any of his fans, but I just can NOT stand him. The whole point of the character, from Kingdom Come was that heroes have become violent, one-note thugs, no better than the "villains" or "rogues" they fight. Superman came back to inspire and educate the new generation heroes on heroic etiquette. So, that would be why my retinas burn when I look at those covers. Sorry to be a buzz kill. I've just been underwhelmed by Justice Society lately.

@AirDave817:
Don't be sorry lol ur right. Also Alex Ross and Mark Waid designed Magog to be a spoof on some popular character trends and  designs of the 90's. The glowing eye, partial metallic skin, and inexpicable pouches...ringing any bells with anyone. They even gave him a golden ramshead to symbolize the "false godhood" these types of characters were receiving at the time. It was all quite clever imo lol. It was a major dig at Liefield lol and I have no idea how he caught on to become an actual mainstream dc character...

Wow.

Is the big bad from JSA Wotan, the old Dr Fate villain?

That'd be cool. Looking forward to more Allstars and more JSA action. Always loved the old guard and the golden age.

You know there's gonna be a Blackest Night: JSA. The covers for that look cool too.

@AirDave817:  I so agree with you.  I don't know why they chose to integrate that character at all, it doesn't make any sense.  I've also dropped JSA.

While I am familiar with a lot of the DC stuff I can only imagine how confusing and muddled this book must be to a new reader.  I still like JSA and this writer but I'm hard pressed to get back into it right now.  Drop Magog, kill him off I don't care.

Are those pictures a little overblown and pixelated, or is it just my computer?  Either way, as covers...I don't really like them.  =  /

Wait, why is the All-Star Cover is full of the new guys? I mean, I like half of the team, but when you think of Justice Society with the word "All-Star" you think of the original members in their glory.
