Cowboy Bebop Live Action Officially Announced

Keanu Reeves has mentioned that he really wants to splay Spike Spiegel in a live action version of Cowboy Bebop. Sunrise has officially announced that the film is indeed in development. Twentieth Century Fox will be involved with the release and Keanu Reeves will be taking the lead role.

There's a little bit of information at our sister site but other than that, there's not much to be said at this point.

The story takes place in the future and centers around a group of bounty hunters.

I'd like to know who will play Faye Valentine. And will they get an actual Welsh Corgi to play Ein. They better not use a CG-dog.

O.K., I've watched and liked only a handful of anime, particularly Ghost In The Shell and of course Akira, along with Vampire Hunter D, and I did see a few episodes of this one. It was interesting and I liked it for the most part. If it gets into production, I will see it, but if Keanu Reeves is attached.........I may have to pass, IDK. I didn't see The Day The Earth Stood Still because A.: The original has been a classic long before I was born and should have been left alone and B.:Keanu Reeves was in it, along with *shudder* Kathy Bates. I don't know how Cowboy Bebop will translate into live action; I mean the anime was good to watch because of the beautiful animation.

The world has gone f@#king nuts an i swear to god us as americans should never touch animes like Bebop to make into Live Action.

I hope the script accidently burns to ash.

Or somehow Keanu has an accident (hads metal bat an wire behind him)

If Keanu messes this up, he'll feel the wrath of thousands possibly millions of Bebop fans. Me being one. I wish him god speed. Fore if he fails, may Shinichirō Watanabe help his soul.

This sucks... I LOVE the anime, and I'm afraid their going to screw this up just like they are with the Dragonball movie -_-'

I'm willing to give him a chance, MAYBE he wont screw this up.... maybe... I pray whe wont...

I'm not so much worried about Faye or Jet (about character cast), but more for Ed. For some reason, I have a feeling they might cast her as a boy...

And I agree, they better not make Ein into some stupid CG dog -_- IF they even put him in.
