'Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope' Trailer Released

Morgan Spurlock and Joss Whedon give you a taste of what Comic-Con is all about.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to go to San Diego Comic-Con? Thousands and thousands go each year but not everyone gets a chance to make it out and see what it's all about. It's not just a regular comic convention, it is an experience.

Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope is a documentary that got it's start a couple years ago. Morgan Spurlock's newest documentary is about to be released and yesterday he Tweeted that the first official trailer has just come out.

What is the documentary about?

Have you ever imagined a place where Vulcans and vampires get along? Where wizards and wookies can be themselves? Welcome to Comic-Con San Diego. What started as a fringe comic book convention for 500 fans has grown into the pop culture event of the year that influences every form of entertainment, now attended by over 140,000 strong. COMIC-CON EPISODE IV: A FAN'S HOPE- a film by Morgan Spurlock explores this amazing cultural phenomenon by following the lives of five attendees as they descend upon the ultimate geek mecca at San Diego Comic-Con 2010.

Check out the trailer:

It won't just cover the convention but will also focus on a few individuals to see the convention through their eyes.

Besides Spurlock's involvement, it's also executive produced by Stan Lee and Joss Whedon. It will be in theaters (an OnDemand) on April 6, 2012.

Wish I lived in America just so I could go to all these conventions.

The only thing I have over here (Perth, Australia) is Supernova...

I'm going to the London Super Comic Convention this weekend, I'm really looking forward to it, I have never been to a Comic Con before, though this looks like its actually about the comics as opposed to pop-culture.

H*LL YEAH!

capfan80on Feb. 23, 2012 at 7:55 a.m.

C'mon on out. Everyone is welcome to visit. American geeks are our greatest international ambassadors.

RedheadedAtrocituson Feb. 23, 2012 at 9:05 a.m.

I'm interested in seeing this now...and can say with a bit of happiness that I will be heading to my first comic convention in about 22 days...Wonder Con baby! :)

Decept-Oon Feb. 23, 2012 at 10:57 a.m.

@RedheadedAtrocitus: Congrats! Pictures. *hint hint* No man have a great time. A fan and overall nice person like you deserves it.

This looks good, at least I hope it will be. I don't know if it was this movie or another one I'd read that really mocked Con attendees and geeks in general in a bad way. Hope that isn't the case with this one we don't need more of that.

I am excited for this documentry to come out. I did not even know it was coming out in theaters. I thought it would be straight to DVD.

Darkmount1on Feb. 23, 2012 at 11:33 a.m.

This I will pay to see in theaters.

One day... I WILL go to Comic Con!

UpUpAndAwayon Feb. 23, 2012 at 1:21 p.m.

This looks amazingly fun. It's great to see a movie that shows how fun and innocent nerd culture can be instead of stereotyping and looking down on. Planning on going to the con in 2013! SO MUCH HYPE!

I have tried so many times to go to San Diego Comic-Con but have never been able to get tickets. I hate how hard it is to get in. They need a bigger place to put it in. I want to go so badly.

This makes me so happy. Goosebumps. Seriously. Goosebumps!
